    I, for one, am extremely happy women are finally getting their due in the NBA. Hopefully some female players join the league too. And more women announcers, please.

    Nope, the Spurs do, you are correct, she will actually be, or have the strongest case to be a head coach in the NBA one day. She is Pop's project and a female version of him, so that alone will probably get her the job, I could see her taking over in SA when hes done

    OK maybe Hammon was regular season assistant coach. Now that I think about it, think she was HEAD coach of summer league Spurs one year.

    On August 5, 2014, Hammon was hired by the Spurs as an assistant coach, becoming the second female assistant coach in NBA history, and the first full-time assistant coach.[2] This also makes her the first full-time female assistant coach in any of the four major professional sports in North America.[2] On July 3, 2015, the Spurs announced that Hammon would be the team's Summer League head coach, the first woman to be a head coach in that league. Hammon led the Spurs to the Las Vegas Summer League title on July 20, 2015.[3]
