    PGA Wyndham Championship Thoughts...

This is always an Interesting Tourney, being the last one before the Playoffs...

It's a short course, I mean Stenson won last year w/o hitting a driver (but of course he was preferring the 3 wood at that time anyway) This is all about the approach game, due to the tiny greens.

You get players ranked outside the top 125 matched vs guys in the 3/4 of the standings at times, due the fact, those players need the points more.

For Example you get Shane Lowry (Currently 139) matched up w/ Bello #57 and Snedeker (#80, and a past winner)

Lowry is also coming off a Huge performance in the PGA finishing T12.

Last week @ the PGA the top 3 in Shots Gained on Approach where

    Daniel Berger
    Tiger Woods
    Julian Siri

The Best on tour playing this week are:

    Stenson
    Bello
    Niemann
    Kirk
    Webb
    Sergio
    Berger

Berger gets a tough matchup this week w/ ex winner Ryan Moore & the kid Joaquin Niemann

    Siri Gets Stricker #141

One Matchup that jumps off the page

Is C Kirk vs K Mitchell

-I mentioned the Biggest stat SG Approach to Green, Kirk is 13th and Mitchell is 161st
-They both have issues w/ the putter, Kirk 113th, Mitchell 196th.
-I Also Mentioned kirk has been of those guys good to me late in the season
-Kirk is 60th, Mitchell 66th... so both securely in

^ This is one I'm in really looking at hard as a play...

What are you guys looking at?

    Lets have a profitable Tournament

Was hoping to target berger in matchups this week but of course they put him in a tough group. I was so high on Berger prior to the 2018 season and he has really disappointed this year, he looked ready to explode and become the next speith/Thomas type player but nope turns out that it was Brooks year to bust out. Thx for the great info lkid I will be putting some time in tonight and tomorrow night on this week's tourney. I will post any matchups i get on in this thread, I may go a bit lighter on golf plays this week overall and hammer the Fed ex cup bol

Personally I am up units overall in golf this calender year, however I was in the red(barely) Just over a month ago before the British. I have been more profitable in golf with less volume, really trying to spot bet that sport. Obviously if u are talking golf futures it is tough to profit unless u hit a few pre-tourney futures, all it takes is 1 longshot hit and your year is payed for. Just like anything it takes a tonne of commitment to be succesful, I was playing fantasy golf(yahoo) with my buddies for about 10 years prior to wagering on it so basically it is running through my veins.
Lkid/dawgy - overall would u guys say u play a high or low volume of golf wagers in comparison to say hoops or pigskin?

I pick 3 or 4 to win generally
    Usually 1-2 entire round H2H

Then I watch and bet individual rounds 1-2
Two years ago I hit 7 outright winners (will never happen again)
    Last year I hit 1
This year I have done well overall

Yeah I mean for me everything is all situational

Nothing set in stone, not only in wagering , but in life as well...

I just use the info I have, + my reads... to make best choice

I mean obviously in Golf and Horses, I'll have more action on big race days, or majors...

Just handicap and see if something is there, for me...

Thx dawgy that is exactly what I was after, we are similar in that I never go over 4 -5 futures each week. I try to find an edge in 1-3 daily matchups max and i may play a bit more when they are in 3somes. 7 outright winners in 1 year is phenomeballs!
Thx again and bol going forward

All four of my futures made the cut last week
I really was thinking Cantley as my longshot
Guy was -5 after two rounds
Then hit neutral on me and stayed there

That Cantley kid has a tonne of potential, he has played so much golf at a young age.
    Last week my futures 4pack
    Koepka +1800
Justin Thomas +1800( those were his odds when I put this bet in the previous weekend sat night when JT was leading the Bridgestone by 3)
    Zach Johnson +8000
    Justin rose +2000

i don't really buy into the needs points so more motivation they are playing for a million dollar check and status on the tour for 2 years if anything needing points might make someone more nervous and play it safe

Still have a bit of work to do on matchups, here are who I am looking at this week
Futures - usually I try to pick 4 main futures per week - 3 favorites(somewhat) and 1 longshot
Longshots- this week I think has the potential for a surprise winner.
    Matt Jones +12500
    Chris stroud +10000
    Hudson swafford +8000
    Brian gay +8000
    Mid range/favorites futures
    Russell Henley +2800
    Si whoo kim +4000
    Jason dufner +5000
    Matchups- 3somes
    Chris stroud +162 vs Furyk/Murray
    Joaquin niemann +105 vs laird/bozzeli
    Bol!

Man I've really fukked up trying to hit the 5D 3 ball market a few years ago.

Thought I had something but went on to lose quite a bit in 3 ball bets.

I might check them, but I avoid them, anymore.

I have had a similar experience with golf matchups on the whole though mabe not to the same extent by the sounds of your run. Even at my peak in the matchups section I have only hit about 44% but about half of those were +150 or better odds so overall I am down small. In the last 2 years I have cut down on my wagers in all sports and it has helped my winning %.
Great to hear the honesty KVB
