US Open contests 2018 - Men and Women's Singles

There will be a separate contest for the men's and women's singles. This is a bracket contest that we'll be again which starts at the First Round of the US Open. According to the official site, the draw will be released on Friday August 24 and the first round starts on Monday August 27 locally so you'll have until that time to send me the link(s) to your bracket for the entire tournament. Keep in mind that you'll be choosing the winner of each match from the first round until the final before the first match goes off so leave yourself some time for deciding your picks. We will again be submitting our entries into a private pool over at The Tennis Channel but please remember that you'll need to enter their main contest pool as well if you want to be eligible for their prizes. I'll create the individual contest threads earlier than normal to both remind everyone that the contest is approaching and also just in case people have questions. I think that between those of us who have participated several times though we should be able to help out anyone who may be entering for the first time if I'm not around at the time they ask.

Entry fee will be 10 points for each contest and the top 10 from each contest will be paid. SBR has generously agreed to sponsor our contests again so you can pay me either in here or in the first post of the individual contest threads once they're made. Non Pros feel free to start transferring me 2 points a day now so you're paid up before it starts.

    Any questions, let me know

    Prize Structure:

    1st place - 2500 Betpoints
    2nd place - 2000 Betpoints
    3rd - 1500
    4th - 1000
    5th - 750
    6th to 10th - 300

If I go pro so I can enter these contests, do all my "non-pro" points disappear?

The points would reset to zero for your pro points to start "counting" towards stuff, right?

I thought John Isner may do well (he usually does in the US-based tournaments) and then he goes and loses before 3rd round two weeks in a row. I honestly have no idea who I am taking. Del Potro? Zverev?

I might just put names in a hat and draw one. Or take Federer I guess. It's actually great that finally the men are unpredictable as for so long it was simply a choice of three, maybe four if Andy was in a good mood.

Zverev lost to Haase who is about 45 years old. What is going on? The 'pull names out of a hat' approach seems quite fitting!

See, I told you!!! Bloody Tennis Channel recommends picking your winner and going backwards when filling out your bracket. Who can pick a winner this time????

Zverev is too inconsistent for my taste. It would probably benefit him to put on some more muscle on that frame.

I've never really trusted him because he's like a roller coaster as you said. I honestly reckon this Slam is going to be a complete coin flip for both sides. Wouldn't be surprised at who won it at all.
