Also their is a trade off defensively, rozier/smart both 5 times the defender that kyrie is so yes u gain offensively with Irving back but I think you loose a bit of grit and defense. Obviously it's still a better team with Irving starting but it's not a landslide

LOL- how do defensive players do in the nba? Who’s the superstars in the nba? Harden/curry/Durant/Davis/kyrie? All have elite offense - You win games by putting the basketball in the net- and I have said this many times - no defense will stop a great offensive player- once again - GSW is consider a good defensive team - on the biggest stage in the finals ? They couldnt stop kyrie ? Also there’s no one more clutch then kyrie - If Boston is lucky enough to make the finals? GSW will sweep there ass!! last time I check harden and curry Doesn’t play a lick on defense ? What defensive player in the league is stopping them ? Case closed

Irving for Leonard? Leonard wants to go west. We will see. It's a decent trade for both teams. I'm not sure it's the best offer the Spurs could get? Everyone wants Leonard.

I think Leonard stays - if lebron cares about rings - he choose San Antonio - him and Leonard along with pop- can challenge the warriors - The east will be Boston for 4-5-6 years atleast - ain’t buying the sixers

Boston good because they have good defensive players

You might not stop superstars but good defensive makes them work very hard and it wears them down

Boston goes nowhere this year without Smart..he is a tough guy that does all the little things

Harden killed himself to score 40 as did James last night...wears them down

GSW plays very good defense..Durant, Igg, Green are so tough defending

    It wins games

Baldy probly the most legit thing you ever said - yes you need defensive players on a team along with elite offensive players - LEbron is playing alone - nobody else on the Cavs can create there own shots - Boston will take down GSW next year -

Never ceases to amaze me at the stupidity from people who have clearly never laced up in their lives

Holy sht, kawhi Leonard to Boston now! They only made a franchise move to bring in the exact same position in small forward with Hayward as the face of the franchise so it makes perfect sense to get rid of a point guards for 2 small forwards

Can't believe sbr has a fair share of the idiots of the Internet

Imagine being kyrie Irving? Why not? The guy has lived the life the day he was born.

He was the toast of the town growing up. When my youngest brother played him in high school people from all over the state flocked and packed into the gym to see him play

He was on the fast track to nba stardom at Duke and his family cashed in at every stage along the way

Hits a game winner for the title in game 7 and got to play with arguably the greatest player of all time

Man it must suck having that life

Only downside is if Boston gets beat by philly next yr as he will undoubtedly take the blame regardless of his play

Kyrie Irving is gonna be delt like Isaah Thomas if I had to guess.. It's all happening exactly the same because of season ending injuries.. Especially if the Celtics make it to the Finals..

Wowzers, I think u you opened a new case. All I did was compare rozier/smart to Irving starting, and if u read my post I did State that with Irving starting they ARE slightly better overall but they loose a bit of defensive toughness. So yes I will take Irving's 25 a game over rozier stopping a few more baskets from happening but it isn't a landslide especially on night when rozier gets 20. Also Every championship team needs an elite defender to go along with the superstar to make the team complete. That's why all these offensive juggernaut teams don't win titles, the warriors have a balance on both sides.

Kyrie ain’t going no where - Boston needs him to beat the western conference teams - nobody on this current Boston roster team have the offensive skills and late game clutch ability kyrie has- case closed

Maybe, we'll see? What if Kyrie starts requesting or even demanding to be traded? He's done that before... He's clearly not needed right now in these playoffs and is just a spectator..

Hayward is more of 2 guard.

Celtics could easily play Rozier, Hayward, Leonard, Tatum, Horford...then you got Jaylen Brown/Marcus Smart/Baynes off the bench. NBA is all about small ball, so I think that team would kill everybody.

Defensively, if you had Leonard, Tatum, Brown, Smart, Baynes lineup out there...best defensive lineup in the league.

Theoritically sure that's a sick lineup but if we're going to go down that road theres about 501 other theoritical what ifs as well

Hayward is a 3 all day and everyday but given the nba environment today he's a swing which can span from the sg to the pf depending on the player

In any event he and brown will be the swing men with both interchanging at times but traditionally speaking brown is built as the sg or 2 and Hayward the 3 or sf

Boston just acquired their face of the franchise in Irving, there is no way they will trade him and San Antonio would be foolish to give up a top 3 player in the league for a player in kyrie that isn't even a top 3 player at his respective position
