Can the Browns pull this off?

I'm thinking the lowly Browns go and get Cousins and then draft Barkley. Gives them some solid pieces to build on. Could even get them to 5 wins next season. Will it happen?

i think the browns are going to be the browns and draft baker mayfield number 1 seems like the typical bonehead move the browns would make

Browns roster looks closer to a playoff roster than a 5 win roster imo. Obviously they need a qb but there a lot of good on that team, oline solid, defense (especially front 7) is good, if Gordon can stop fukking up and stay on the field him and Coleman (needs to stay healthy) could potentially be one of best wr combos in league.

Crazy as it sounds that way it looks to me, of course this the Browns so maybe they draft mayfield #1 and Allen #4, lol.

I havnt seen him enough to have any type of honest good opinion on that. I think mayfield will be absolute bust so I'd say Allen has to be better pick than him, at least Allen has arm to play in wind and cold while mayfield doesn't. Allen had such garbage around him this year by all accounts but his completion percentage is worrisome.

Seems like a great time. Ben getting old, balty fallen off since paying flucco, cincy is cincy. Division is really down and browns have been accumulating good pieces.

I agree with you that they have a decent roster. Now if they sign Cousins and can use the #1 and #4 picks on non QBs, they could really make a huge leap next season. They have also accumulated a ton of draft picks the next few years. Signing Cousins would expedite the process as a young QB takes time to develop.

I love Mayfield but would prefer to bring in an established QB over using a high pick on a college kid that might not pan out.

They have a ton of options so it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Without a fluke win over the Chargers in 2016 they'd be 0 for last 32....wow!

The only reason to go there is if you're going to be substantially overpaid. Since Cousins is going to be handsomely rewarded somewhere else it would take an unbelievable amount of money to put Cleveland in the reckoning.

Browns more ready to succeed than lot of other teams that be interested in him. Again this contingent on Gordon not fukkin up but which team has a better oline and wr duo that needs a qb?

    Cards? Nope.
    Donks? nope.
    Both those olines are trash.

    Jets? Fukk no.

Jags? With Robinson returning healthy. Yes! But are jags in market to pay upwards of 30 mil a year? If he looking for most money I doubt it be jags. If cousins wants to win he won't go for most money, seriously who cares 20 or 30 mil? I rather take 20 a year and have some help!!

Cousins said he wants a chance to be in the playoffs right away so he is not going to the Browns and I am surprised the Jets have such low odds for his potential landing spot.

Kirk Cousins Team at Start of 2018 Regular Season
    08:00 AM 99701 Broncos +150
    99702 Cardinals +800
    99703 Jets +275
    99704 Browns +400
    99705 Bills +1400
    99706 Jaguars +600
    99707 Dolphins +2000
    99708 Giants +2000
    99709 Vikings +1200

Broncos are chalky but that is probably where he goes, although Jaguars and Vikings are intriguing.

Browns have as much talent as most the teams on list. Thing is if you pay cousins 30 mil a year you not making the playoffs much, maybe 1st year then it be all down hill as won't be able to field a competitive team going forward.

Browns could set themselves up for years to come. Take Barkley #1 then take Allen or Darnold, whoever the Giants don’t take at #2.

Cousins won’t go there, spend the money on other positions

Shrewd trading in form of draft picks, not so much in form of QBs (yet!).

The Browns should take Barkley 1st, The giants take Rosen 2nd, The colts take Chubb 3rd, and the Browns get the QB they wanted at 4.

I think that is the way to go to get better quicker but im not a big fan of Cousins but im also not a big fan of these QB coming out. Going that way is basically getting two number ones for the price of one. I think they are gonna be pressured to draft a quarterback. I would keep building. If im the browns i might trade down a few spots and take Barkley and than try to trade up and get Baker. All this Baker hate has to do with people comparing him to Johnny football. Johnny had the talent but a two cent brain. Mayfield will make it in this league unless he is another guy that likes the drinky

Nothing lasts forever, but it seems no matter how many draft pics they get, they still end up being the same ole sorry ass browns. I though they might be better after week one when they almost beat Pitt at home. (they covered). But that game at home vs green bay really pissed me off.
