MGM Grand took a 500K bet...

On Game 1 of the World Series on L.A Dodgers and Kershaw.

Just letting you all know. Keep and eye out because this could be line manipulation

I don't know about easy. Anything can happen in one event. Remember that people play the game, not money. Well, sometimes, lol.

500k line manipulation to then fade Kershaw, arguably the GOAT?

Not happening. The other way around maybe, drop that -170 to -140 then drop $5mm or some ridiculous Billy Walters number on Clayton.

Verlanders are better. He has a shot at being 2017 the Goat.

Kershaw had poor postseason luck early in career that's all behind him and seriously, if he's not in the argument for GOAT starting pitcher I'd like to hear the best 5 man rotation all time MLB.

    R Johnson
    R Clemens
    C Kershaw
    B Gibson
    B Feller

    No love for Nolan Ryan?
Nobody is going to strikeout 5714 again.
Yeah, you can argue the 3 ERA doesn't stack up to the other all time greats, he did manage to get the walk problem under control the last half of his storied career and wound up with a pretty good 1.25 WH/IP
7 no hitters, holder of 53 different records. Come on, there'll never be another Nolan Ryan.

Ryan was big time, he was such a gamer, always wanted the ball, no fear, no situation or match up feared him.

    I remember his last game.
It was in the Kingdome, 1993.
Ryan said he warmed up tight.
In the first inning of that game against the Mariners on 9/22/93 Ryan couldn't get an out.
He loaded the bases for Dann Howitt who hit a grand slam, the next batter was Dave Magadan, Ryan went to a 2-0 count, on ball two Ryan heard a pop in his elbow, he said it burnt like hell, Ryan said he knew he was never going to pitch again, he threw one last pitch, just to make sure to Magadan, it was a 82 MPH fastball, but that was it, he came off the mound with the lower half of his arm dangling. Rangers pitching coaches knew it, manager knew it.
The Mariner fans in the Kingdome knew it too.
As Ryan left the mound every fan, man, woman and child rose to their feet, gave Nolan Ryan a standing ovation that seemed to last forever.

His last pitch, at age 46, for all intents without an elbow that was blown out was 82 MPH.

I love the Ryan Express, I do, but that .500 record, no Cy Youngs, only 1 or 2 20 win seasons...I compare home to Blyleven, Morris and Kaat. Id take any of them for 1 game but if I'm going to build a rotation.....

I even left Maddox of my list and he won 350 games!

The best pitchers after the '1968 year of the pitcher' (1969 MLB had to raise the mound) were:
    (in no particular order)
    Maddux
    Ryan
    Randy Johnson
    Pedro Martinez
    Tom Seaver
Gotta throw Jim Palmer in there too.

Most underrated pitcher of all time?
Mike Mussina, punch up his career numbers, you'll say "wow"

Can you imagine if Steve Carlton didn't pitch for shitty teams?
In 1972 he won 27 games for a Phillies team that won 59 games all season.
Chew on that, he won almost 1/2 their games by himself.

You want to see something incredible.
Look at this, then look at it again.

    Look at the IP column.
Pitch count? I don't need no stinking pitch count.

And I'm positive if MGM loses that bet they'll never feel it.
If they do feel it, it'll be for a second.
