This afternoon, I will back Pau Lopez, goaltender for Espanyol, as Madrid hosts
the Barcelona team (Espanyol), 2:30 pm EST.
Real Madrid is dealing with a number of injuries, Bale is out among others,
and Ronaldo has not been scoring much lately, Real Madrid has not fared
will in La Liga play. Espanyol has held teams to far less than this total
in all games except one game in Barcelona against Barcelona.
With all the turmoil happening in Spain and Catalonia, nobody is thinking about
futbol today. I'll be rooting for Espanyol's defense against a shorthanded Madrid
squad, who are likely to emphasize clock-killing play if they take the lead.
