    Navy @ FAU

Well... what do we think here?

    Navy wants to go home

FAU wants to try and dig out of the 23pt deficit

    What happens?

Game has to go 55minutes for bets to be valid?

I have Navy so this could turn out quite shitty

    Agree

Do not think Kiffin wants his debut to be like the rest of his shit HC career

    or he's on Navy

For those of us backing Navy vs Kiffin's coaching debut at FAU, fingers crossed. 2nd lightning delay may force refund, not a Nevada win

The game will resume in 5 minutes provided we don't get anymore lightning strikes between now and then. We believe still on ESPNEWS

    thank heavens this game finished

some of the tweets were hilarious... like

"navy takes the field! for the 5th time"

"and we are now 5 hours and 20 minutes into the game... which is almost as long as an american league baseball game"

there was some weird grading going on

betonline graded one of my live bets as a loss (on fau) during the delay but left the rest until it finished

but like always if it didn't go 55 minutes everything would've been voided

Lane Kiffin’s FAU team got handed a pretty good beating by Navy in its season opener, 42-19. The game took nearly six hours to complete thanks to weather.

It rained a bit in south Florida. In fact, it rained a lot.

And with rain, comes lightning. Three delays pushed the game’s ending to around the time the bars close at 2:00 am ET. Thanks to player safety concerns, there has to be a certain time between lightning strikes before players can re-take the field.

Sometimes in blowouts, games’ll just get abandoned. Cut the losses, and everyone goes home. Not the case with FAU. Per ESPN, Kiffin wouldn’t have the game called off.

FAU-Navy has resumed after a third lightning delay and 13:53 remaining in the fourth quarter. Lane Kiffin told ESPN when they got back onto the field he did not want to quit the game, because he wanted to win. Navy leads 42-19.

It’s a tad much for Lane to force the issue here, but I get it. No quit in these Owls, rain or shine.

they were in the process of going for 2 when it got delayed, and fau was only down 35-19 with a whole quarter left

down 2 scores and call it an official loss? i wouldn't either... go down fighting and send the right message

all the clowns that talk about player safety having to come back and warm up/play again obviously never heard of 2-a-days... nobody even got close to being injured or cramping up after the delay

that's only mentioned because of the scumbag barry alvarez when he fixed the wisconsin/unlv game by not finishing
