2002 Altima? I'm assuming you paid cash for it (8 years old car with lots of miles) so liability insurance shouldn't be anything more than $35 a month. Where are you getting $680 a month quotes? This is not a Ferrari.

i just got my estimates back from my insurance guy and for a 24year old buying a brand new Camaro/Mustang/Challenger they're all between $1,200-$1,400 a year, i was SHOCKED when i saw them cause i expected atleast $2,000-$3,000 a year but after having them check again nope, all is right

lol how much is a 2002 nissan worth? He would be paying almost 4k in insurance a year, which is obv insane and a terrible financial decision however you look at it. It takes a pretty bad wreck to total a car and make it un-drivable. He should just sell it and get a shittier car and go without insurance if he really cant afford to buy a new one.

but seriously, i got an 03 altima and im paying $38 a month for full coverage. of course im 30 and have nothing on my record, my house on the same account (discount), another car (discount) my wifes wedding ring on the same account (discount), but i don't think its that much.
