It's never smart to gamble Sammy. Stick to Fox News. It's entertaining and the cable bill comes with CNN and MSNBC.

Gambling has consumed my life. I am happier with it than without. I was lucky to get a second chance and now gamble responsibly.

Not 40. Won't make it there, and the answer is hell no. It was fun filling out two parlay cards as a kid every Wednesday trying to hit one.

Watching the games on weekends with money on it was how I fell in love with sports in a way. Of course it felt like a lot of money back then. Damn Michael Vick beating GB fcked me. I was older then, but that one always sticks out.

That shit Big Ten game at noon was always on the card. Even as a youngin, I had to make sure the game was on TV. Loved picking Purdue for whatever reason. I did so much better when I was a kid, than when I started thinking too much. I wouldn't give that up, but that set the foundation for failure. And that foundation has set.

Haven't played regularly for about a year now. After roughly 35 years of play, can't say I miss it one bit. Got tired of constantly checking scores at certain times, not paying attention to what I was doing, the whole "one time please" and "I'll never do that again" attitude. The worse thing to ever happen to me was winning my first 12 NFL plays at $50.00 a play when I was 13. Fuckk that shit.

Sammy I go back and forth every day about whether or not to bring the children up in the "family business."

I think I would do them a disservice not to educate them on what's happening, and let them perhaps improve on methods and efficiency.

    Or lose it all...lol.

It is a hard way to make an easy living. I jokingly call it work and there are a lot of other ways to make more money. Just do not think you can be a good sports player and hold a brick and mortar job as well. Too hard - one of them has to be a hobby and the best one takes priority.

    Interesting thread by Sammy.

Sometimes I think your destiny is practically written out. There are reasons why people love sports. Etc. I honestly don't play table games or slots at casinos. I just like sports.

I remember when I was a senior in high school.... I didn't care about the Yankees winning the world series... didn't even turn on ESPN. Had no clue who anyone was... had no clue who Stuart Scott was...

Then all of a sudden... you're surfing the internet 3 years later... and you come across.... MAKE $ wager on sports... and you're like is this sh#$ real? You make a small deposit.... and you're IN. That's how it started with me.

I really wouldn't want to change anything. It's who I am.

If gambling is hard, it is because you make it hard.

And if that is the case, how hard is it to change something within it so it is not?

    Not sure where to start?

Keep records of plays and always know where you stand.

    Identify your strengths and weaknesses.

The desire to win should override the desire to bet.

Well, I wonder if the sportsbooks are making money these days? A lot of the donkeys moved on. The players are much better now than 20 years ago. Soft numbers and candy stores are gone. So, what is the volume like? We could enter a stalemate time period. Players will not play without a value number. No volume - no line movement - nothing happens???

No probably not but for me it's competition or a form of competition. I really enjoy it I'm not 40 but close. I'm going to make it clear to my kids (when and if I ever have them don't gamble ) funny i say that because I'm probably re upping for the ufc tonight

Some people get off on drugs I get off on trying to beat the book. Sad part now is kinda suck at it now believe it or not I used to be decent or even good at picking winners.

i didn't work for 3 years if I tried to gamble full time now I'd be homeless in under two weeks I'm pretty sure.

Trust me it just seems like that because of these boards... The avg guy is see in the books in Vegas don't even know half the players or who the ufc fighters are but they stay gambling on it. The shit I hear in line while waiting to get my tickets is amazing. You probably wouldn't believe half of it.

Depends on your style ... Those 3 years when I was watching the first half of baskets and football and betting 2nd half and in gaming was all experience and knowledge. I was so good at it the Jj gold handle told me so. Kinda how I know the Jj gold handle has probably had 30+ different people posting under that handle easy... Easy .

JJ never remembers the stuff it's handle posts.

theres an advantage to knowledge if your betting in game watching games or understand mixed martial arts. Ufc betting is almost all about knowledge imo. Just throwing darts otherwise.
