But what range would those 1st rounders be? 20+ range? Bad trade for the Hawks only because George might leave after 1 year...

George was at one point considered to one day be what kawhi is now. He was giannis the Greek freak before giannis came along. He's an elite talent but not much between the ears. Under budenholzer the Hawks would be better than everyone not named the cavs if they added pg13

Well the Hawks 1st round picks are gonna be crappy first rounders because the Hawks are making the playoffs each and every year like IBETYOU said in the above post.. Not many ping pong balls in other words.. Not alot of talent in deep first rounders right now in college either or in the near future..

George is a really solid player and IMO easily worth those 4 1st round picks from the Hawks.. I'd pass on that offer too.. Besides the Pacers are trying to win now and not wanting to rebuild with a bunch of college players fresh off the boat..

My take anyways... Lakers have been getting alot of early 1st round picks lately and they still suck..

Even if they're in the 20s, four 1st rounders is worth getting. Pacers aren't going anywhere with George anyway. Time to build.

this is not the nfl, picks mean nothing if they are not lottery picks.

Having said that, if they believe he is leaving, thats a damn good deal to get. But if you think he will sign long term you dont even entertain trading him for 4 picks likely in the late 20's.

This ain't NFL how much are 1st round picks worth? Where would those picks be most likely in the teens? 4 guys outside the lottery odds against getting one George out of the group. Obviously it possible they find guy or 2 that develop into that quality but also very possible not one of them ever more than a role player..

they also turned down a trade with one less 1st rd pick because Jae Crowder was too good to trade.. can't write this stuff.. Ainge gets all this praise yet hasn't done one good thing with Brooklyn's assets. Gonna be sad when IT walks in free agency and they give Gordon Hayward a max deal. same ol Celtics

And don't think you just have to sit on those picks and draft with them every time. You can package them for other things.

I think one could easily argue that first round picks are more important in the NBA than the NFL simply because the draft isn't as deep. Most players on an NBA roster are 1st and 2nd round picks. Most players on an NFL roster are not 1st or 2nd round picks.

You certainly right the depth is much greater in NFL and yea majority of the NBA is made of 1st rounders (don't even think lot of 2nd rounders make it). That said any given year how many guys of George quality are actually in the draft? Then subtract the lottery since I think we can fairly assume they wouldn't be lotto picks correct?

so while there far less picks than the NFL and not nearly the depth I think it also fair to say proven stars far easier to come by in the NFL and unlike the NFL you have to have stars to win in the NBA. I'm not as much trying to argue the value of picks as much so as the value of proven stars who incredibly hard to just go get in the NBA.

Winslow was offered four first rounders last year. The heat turned it down. Again that was the last time i remember such a offer. But that just shows its worth.....
