Media really makes him squirm

I see it differently. I see him as calling out the press and the narrative. He's well equipped and experienced for taht public eye. He's just often times frank. He's may still a shill and obviously only wants his narrative (which seems more truthful for the most part). He also seems bet on negating anything that opposes his narrative.

For years and years and years I've wondered how the main press agencies could get away with identifying a source as "was not named because he was not authorized to talk to the media."

They would say this about small meetings. Why has no one ever, in all the history that the media has done this, looked around the room and said, "ok someone talked and shouldn't have."

It doesn't happen because that's how the people are fed information.

It happens time and time again. Not being authorized to talk to the media actually means the person who is sent to talk to the media. Just one more big joke on the American people.

Trump actually addressed that type of issue and said it shouldn't happen. I've never heard anyone say this obvious thing.

It's the ONLY piece of evidence I've seen that show Trump is not just another gov't shill leading towards socialism. He just will get there a little slower as a republican.

Donald Trump did not reveal anything at his press conference — except that the press won't ever be able to reveal anything about Donald Trump.

Part-bully, part-scold, Trump did what he does best: He used the force of his own ego to silence anyone who is not in service to that ego.

He didn't answer questions. He questioned the questions themselves. When asked if Russian President Vladimir Putin has anything on him, he turned the question back on the reporter: "Does anyone in this room really think Hillary Clinton would be tougher on Vladimir Putin than Donald Trump?"

Later, when asked about the report that he hired prostitutes in a Russian hotel, he did the same thing, "Does anyone really believe that story?" Again, that's not an answer; it's a question.


And of course no one in the press answered — reporters lob the questions, not answer them — but the technique is telling because reporters simply don't know what to do when their questions aren't answered.



Trump knows what he's doing. He knows that reporters are so eager to ask their own preciously worded, perfectly parsed question to a sitting president that they'll be much more likely to ask an entirely new question than the logical follow-up: "I have a question for you, Mr. President-elect: Can you answer my colleague's question with an answer this time instead of an insult?"
When he did respond to actual questions, he made campaign speeches that were short on facts — and fodder for the follow-up questions that, again, no one asked. He said again, for example, that Mexico will pay for the wall. How, exactly? To this day, we don’t know.
Follow-up questions and a unified approach by reporters as colleagues not rivals is the only way to ensure that future press conferences are legitimate news events and not Trump rallies. But watch, as this administration unfolds, how rarely the media will challenge Trump’s wildest claims to his face.

The reporters won’t do it — the Belittler-in-Chief wouldn’t allow it anyway. He wouldn’t take a question from a vehement CNN reporter who argued that he should get to ask a question because Trump had demeaned his news organization. Trump dismissed him — and the other reporters just kept shouting their own questions rather than defending their colleague by posing the question for him.


The media needs a "Spartacus" moment — when individual reporters stop worrying about themselves and speak in one voice for a greater good: getting the answers.
As an aside, it would help, by the way, if Trump, as president, stops inviting supporters to the briefing room to yell, "Trump! Trump! Trump!" as they did on Wednesday at Trump Tower. These supporters cheered wildly when Trump suggested that no one cares about his tax forms except reporters.
Whether America cares or not is not the issue. Reporters search for facts. Trump disrespects that search. As Trump himself might say, "Does anyone in this room think anything is going to change after Jan. 20?"
