Harbaugh has done far far better than his 2 predecessors. i think michigan is like alot of programs and needs to evaluate strength/weaknesses/etc. of its program before continuing the coaching carousel.
what happens if you fire Harbaugh, hire a big name coach and he goes 9-3 back-to-back seasons but gets destroyed by Ohio State and gets beaten by 2 of wisconsin, penn state, michigan, iowa each year?......... hire another coach to do the same thing? and repeat/repeat/repeat? see nebraska/ucla/etc.
i think one harbaugh issue is his teams have been optimized to destroy rutgers 80-0...... i think there needs to be more thought as to how to beat ohio state, wisconsin etc... you will be rutgers, illinois etc. handily no matter what you do.
having said that, was so unimpressed by michigan's running game against army. it was comically bad. a 3 yard run was a great play
so firing harbaugh is somewhat ok, but some thought needs to be given to not being on a rat treadmill with these coaches.... one issue is there aren't that many NFL players from michigan. (and then i don't know how good michigan is at getting almost all those players)
