could you imagine if BTP players had to make a pick on the superbowl worth 10units+(more actually based on the ratio)?

30 units in bowl contest from 15 picks and have to make a 4 unit pick worth over 10% of possible winnable units. Just doesn't make sense. Fix it next year please.

FWIW brooks, this contest sells out every time even with 10+ added spots and fast. The rules have been the same for the contest. I doubt they will change and since everyone knows the rules upfront its fair for all. If they change they would be welcomed, but I don't think they are pressured to change with the results.

I hear ya, and if they don't change it that's ok. Still awesome contest just hate how to ends every year. Doesn't matter if I'm in first or last, the ending just doesn't make sense.

Change is possible tho, took them forever to change the poker setup for the big tourney and this is the exact same problem, literally identical. Now it's fixed. As the years go on and more people land in first, second, third after their 15 skillful picks they will understand. Poker problem was fixed faster simply because the pool was larger so more people were complaining. But, again, it is the exact same problem in this bowl contest.

Yep totals of 55.56.57 and clemson cover you win 2nd. Other wise 3rd or 4th due to tie break 1. Unless it goes under all 3 of you then 2nd tie break of 3*s you win 3rd and 4th chopped.

Actually I made a mistake.

You are guaranteed at least 3rd. It is only a 2 way tie not 3 way. So you take 2nd or 3rd not 3rd or 4th guaranteed.

So you can hedge on the 2k+

Tiebreaker still comes into play either way. But you can definitely be jumped because of it. You have to score between 48-61 or root for under 44 and then it goes to 2nd tie break where you win top prize of the 3 tied due to 3*s.

This is closer to correct. Your best scenario is a 44-47 game total with Clemson covering and you break 4th place tie break for 4th. Any total outside of that is a 5th-6th placing for you due to losing both tie-breaks or splitting the prize. So best scenario 4th (total 44-47) and worst is 6th (if Clemson covers and you lose tie-breaks too).

You can safely hedge on the 20k pts based on this and if you win a higher placement, great.

Talk about hard to believe. For last place a handful of people didn't even make a pick so that if Clemson wins (Bama loses), then 9 points becomes the new low for a 3 way tie break and ends up skipping over 5 people. That means Convick and I don't even have to lose to be eligible for last place prize. Hard to believe they didn't submit one when near last but lack of a pick = not in contention. I guess they didn't read the rules or they didn't need the $500...

If Clemson covers, you are at 24 points. Tied with two others, whose tiebreakers are 48 and 62. You with tiebreaker 44 need a low scoring game, and Clemson covering, for optimal result. And even then sportsfun, mintpicks79 and igor1965 are out of your reach so you'll end up in 4th.

In my earlier post I just wanted to look at an example where tiebreaker comes into play. Your current position won't let you get better than the 4th.
