    ....and who's peaked?

Can't the Mets look at how the Yanks just passed away 2 seasons getting out from under these deals?

Of course he's worth it. He's the only guy who can hit in Citifield.

every year people hate on this guy but so far has delivered for the Mets. I am glad to see the Mets open up the pocket book these days and keep players. A lot of years of never paying anyone and letting all our good players walk out the door.

This is why sports ratings are down all over the board. Soon college sports is going to take over these pro sports.

All these pro sports have become so boring with every smuck getting over paid and not having a competitive spirit once locking up the monster contract.

I made a terrible call on Daniel Murphy, kid should've stayed in NY. I thought Mets might make a mistake overpaying him but he was amazing last year with the Nats. I know this is a YoCes thread but it reminded me of that. 30 mill is insane though good grief.

guy will hit .277 30 104 and will paid 5 million a month. what can these teams be thinking. this cannot continue. i know it was a long time ago but don drysdale and sandy koufax had to hold out to get 125k a year. dodgers finally gave in reluctantly. wonder how many seconds it took for cespedes to sign. didn't weigh any offers from other clubs. doubtful.

Overpaid? Yes, however with the Mets pitching staff of thor, harvey, deGrom and Matz they have to win now and what other free agent could they possible get? He was the best available and he likes playing in New York. Are any of these players worth this kind of money? No! When these pitchers are free agents the Mets might hold one but they will see 3 gone to the highest bidder. So, give Wilpon credit for spending and trying to win a world series now.
