Jeurys Familia has hired Pittsburgh-based attorney Jay Reisinger to represent him in matters relating to Major League Baseball's investigation into Familia's Oct. 31 arrest on a domestic violence charge, according to a report from Ken Davidoff of the New York Post.
Even after his legal proceedings are resolved, the 27-year-old Mets closer will likely face a suspension from MLB under its domestic violence policy. Reisinger represented former Yankees reliever Aroldis Chapman in his domestic-violence case, and the two sides eventually agreed to a 30-game suspension for the Cuban flamethrower.
