Lakeshow +195: Jazz have nothing to play for.

After last night's loss, the Utah Jazz are out of the playoffs
if Houston, a 15-pt favorite, beats Sacramento.

The high line previous to last night was predicated on the
expectation that the Jazz would win, thus needing the game
    in LA. Didn't happen.

Expect the Laker line to drop more after it becomes evident
Houston will win, ending the Utah season tonight.

Major NBA production on hand at Staples Center
    with national television coverage.
Tickets for Hall of Famer and lifetime Laker Kobe Bryant's
final game are selling in the $500-700 range for nosebleed
seats, and $3-5,000+ closer to the action.

We will be taking a look at the referee assignments
when they are released @ 11:00 am, but since the Jazz
can pack their bags and call it a season, there is no
reason to expect much of a challenge from them.

    Line just dropped to +190.

    Refs are Guthrie, McCutchen, Workman.
    Nothing to read into.

Everyone in the building will be lollygagging on Kobe,
and that includes the Jazz roster who are young players
that grew up watching Kobe win rings.
The Jazz will be the Washington Generals tonight.
    Kobe will be Meadowlark Lemon.

I bought up to +8 earlier just because that's
virtually automatic, just in case.. but I actually
have 2x as much on the ML.

I think out of respect, the Jazz LET the Lakers win. No one may come out and say it, but if I were playing against him in his last game, I would definitely do what I could to pay my respects...

Look for Kobe to get whatever shot he wants.

There will be slightly better defense on Kobe than in an All-Star game.

Typical NBA would have the loser Jazz losing to Mavs and winning this game lol.

    Absolutely.
    NBA is a brotherhood.
Jazz will enjoy themselves a lot more patting Kobe on the back
than playing the spoilers. There won't be any spoiling of tonight's festivities.
The only reason why the line is even hanging at 175 (+5) is that possibility
that the Rockets choke and Utah needs the game ! lol.

Don't agree with all that back slapping BS. The Jazz just missed out on the playoffs -that's a bitter experience that trumps everything. Hayward vs Bryant. Smash!

That's true, but we don't need to worry about that scenario if we back Jazz do we?

(edit: bear in mind the LA game is later)

A lot of fans just want to see the stars -they're not fans of the game itself so much.

Of course he doesn't NEED it, he DESERVES it. I am treating the game like a playoff game if I am a teammate of Kobe's tonight...

4 courtside seats together available on StubHub right not 25k a piece.

100k - 4 court side seats tonight. Oh, and throw in the 10 percent StubHub sur-charge on that total.

Of course they're playing to win -I'm on the Jazz! And it is significantly later. One is at 20:00 and the other is at 22:30. TV games regularly follow one after the other at these times, so there's a fair chance they will know before the game starts. Will certainly know coming out of the half.

Hou and Sac are two of the most unpredictable teams in the NBA. They both should be way better than they are. Solid teams on paper. Some nights they look great other nights they look awful. Houston putting up a crapper tonight and Sac coming to play isnt long shot.
