Lakers will regret not drafting Okafor. A lot of really good young talented teams, should be a great year and probably tough to Cap.

The spread offense is being implemented by many teams. Kind of reminds u of the spread offense in nfl. Wonder if it will last

San Antonio controlled the entire game. I could only imagine how many people took them LIVE at high juice to win the game.

Pop didn't even use Parker/Duncan as the main option. If I needed a bucket it would go into Duncan and allow him to shoot or pass. Bad coaching indeed

Good point. I was surprised they went to Aldridge twice and Green/Leonard... last 3 possessions I think?

Didn't see the game but just looked at the boxscore. 26 mins, 5 pts on 2/2 FG, 7 reb, 2 ast. What stood out to you about him?

Grizzlies getting their shit pushed in tonight really makes me think their window might be closing soon rather than later.

I never took grizz seriously as contender. They just never addressed their lack of outside shooting. One or two outside snipers and they'd be tough to beat

Winslow is good but he won't see enough minutes for ROY.

Only got minutes tonight because game was in-hand.

He actually has no shot to win ROY.

Pistons played too many stretch 4s. Tonight they got abused by Favors. I don't like Marcus Morris or Illysova playing the PF. I'd much rather see this team with Monroe still there. Letting him go was a mistake.

Drummond is a beast in the paint but he has no post game right now. Let's see if he develops.

Spurs are the best team in the NBA.

Okafur is solid but Lakers are Bryant's team and he doesn't need to be giving Okafur that many touches.

    Lastly,

Opening day means nothing, and as always, regular seasons means absolutely nothing. Amateurs cap nba playoffs based on reg season

    Right.

All I know is... I've never seen The Palace so empty the last 2 seasons. It's actually very sad.

Monroe and Drummond together wasn't the answer. Something was missing. I thought Drummond was the problem. Monroe was clearly the problem if you go 2-0... which they did.

And Winslow played big in a very important stretch of that heat game and played really well. Goat, watch basketball and don't just read the scoreline

I agree. Pretty obvious they needed to get shooters the last few years and always ended up at the bottom of the league in 3-pters, which every contender has plenty of. Instead they'd trade for guys like Jeff Green and Tayshaun....never understood that.

The problem with Monroe/Drummond is that both are natural centres and got in each others way last year consistently. Despite what some might think Detroit needed a stretch 4 to open the paint up for Drummond on both ends. SVG has a nice little team with the emergence of KCP. Very similar to his Orlando builds with Howard.

Biggest thing I learned today is Alvin Gentry to a worst coach than Monty Williams. Hard to believe but there it is.

Drummond over that other guy all day. He doesn't need a post game. Guy fcks up your shot if u dare enter the paint. And he can screen your ass to the ground, run to the basket, dunk in yo face, grab the rebound, and dunk again. Guy is no softy. He's the perfect center for today's nba

Didn't watch the game but Okafor's line pretty impressive

    26pts on 10/16 and 6/6 ft

He's going to get more minutes and shots than many rookies because Philly completely absent of much other offensive talent but still, pretty impressive for his first game.

I remember one of the biggest concerns about his game in college being his free throw shooting which, at least ostensibly, he appears to have improved upon.

Solid shot at ROY for the kid based upon the fact he has a shot to put up biggest numbers

I didn't see a lot of him in college but when I did watch Louisville play he didn't stand out very much. So far it's not looking like a good pick but I really hope he proves me wrong.
