I went to UF. Our cheer girls weren't all that impressive either. My theory is that the actual hot girls get to go to the games and get good seats and all the perks of cheering without all the work. My neighbor was on the squad. Was all pumped at first cause most of the cheerleaders would show up at parties in the complex which was cool until you realize there are a bunch of dude cheerleaders who also show up and they are incredible douches.

All that said. penetrating hook em horns. Get moving here

Basketball program beat up on a pathetic Rice team earlier. But yeah Football program is a joke. KKK are going to ask for the coaches head. Shouldn't be hard recruiting kids to go to Texas.

Former Texas Longhorns quarterback Chris Simms claims that while he was in school, he was paid by boosters of the university. But he isn’t saying it was just Texas at fault, but rather that the issue is more of a wide-spread phenomena than anyone wants to admit.

“Not the boosters that you would see around on a normal basis,” said Simms, while on as a guest of “The Dan Patrick Show.” “They weren’t going to do things like that, they were too a part of the program.

“It would be the random booster that you might see only one time. He would find you that one time and he might have 10 football jerseys for you to sign real quick, and then you’d sign it and then he’d give you a ‘hey, thanks for this. I appreciate that.’ And he’d give you a $100 handshake. That’s what I’d call it.

“For people to think that doesn’t happen, that’s just stupid. Get over it, it’s not a big deal. It’s happening everywhere. It’s happening at Harvard, it’s happening at Division II schools. It’s going on everywhere.”

Simms played as a member of the Longhorns from 1999-02, departing with the school’s single-season passing touchdown record, which has since been surpassed.

He went on to a seven-year playing career in the NFL, which never materialized in him becoming a starter after he was chosen in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He currently works for NBC Sports, after having spent the past handful of year with CBS and Bleacher Report.

It’s certainly expected that Shane Buechele will start at quarterback for Texas this fall. After all, he did so last season and performed capably well — about as well as you could expect for a true freshman on a 5-7 team. Buechele’s competition for the job is true freshman Sam Ehlinger, and you definitely wouldn’t bank on a true freshman beating out an incumbent starter.

Tom Herman confirmed as much Monday. Herman said Buechele would start if the Maryland opener was tomorrow, and that will be the case until it isn’t.

“As of today, Shane’s starting,” he said. “Now, does that guarantee he’ll start against Maryland? No. But, he’ll take the bulk of the ones. If he doesn’t take advantage of them, Sam plays better than him, that’ll change. As of now, Shane’s getting the bulk of the one reps, but Sam will continue to do that…. It’s a good battle, but you can tell Shane’s played 12 games of college football.”

Herman will turn it around. Texas has to have patience. They at least make a bowl, then let him get his guys in there. Soon enough, they will be winning 8-10 games. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be enough for them.

8-10 wins will not cut it in Texas. 8-10 wins will not be good enough to win a Conference Championship, and certainly not even close to playing in the playoffs. The departure of Texas A&M opened the floodgates for teams from all over to take solid recruits from Texas.

Texas ruined the Big 12, basically drove A&M into the loving arms of the SEC. Longhorns paying the price every single day.
