Hello everyone I was just wondering who among us would be interested if I was to post my Esports bets in which I make, I usually bet Starcraft 2 and have done very well in the past doing so. I use pinnacle as my book and am not sure how many other books actually offer lines on Esports. If I have anyone show any interest in me doing this I would be glad to do so. Also not sure exactly which forum I would post my picks in. I realize betting video game tournaments sounds a bit off or a joke but hell I would bet pee wee soccer games if I figured I could make money at it, and I'm sure alot of you would too, Thanks!

Never heard of betting on esports but I would be very interested in learning more. I use 5Dimes and haven't seen this option yet. As esports continue to grow, I'm sure it's inevitable that it will be an option everywhere soon. Do you just watch the games/matches on twitch?Comment -

This is not true. There is an element of short term luck in any single poker tourney which could lead to anyone getting a lucky streak of good cards and taking it down. In Esports, specifically Starcraft 2, this element of luck is removed from the equation because Starcraft 2 is 100% a skill game. Starcraft 2 could be compared to chess, although it is arguably more exciting to watch and requires a completely different skill set. Betting on Starcraft 2 tournies seems like it could be a legitimate option if your book offers it and winners are about as predictable as they are in boxing matches.Originally posted by GunShardComment -

I bet on this quite frequently and have been profitable. I cleaned up on the Dreamhack event Friday and yesterday. The big play was Forgg over Life at +339. He has been streaming on twitch for a long time and I knew he was much better than the odds suggested.
Overall its a good "sport" to bet on. The lines are very soft in a number of cases. I usually bet dogs and small favorites.Comment -

I had ForGG at +1.5 at even money which was surprising seeing as how he had beaten life previously in the tournament and was still a dog, things like this lead me to beleive it is a very good option to bet on. If you can get a line and have an angle or a good understanding of what you are betting on, then anything is good to bet.
Its actually a great sport to bet on:
1. Its new, so you will get weird odds in your favor if you know the players well.
2. Its a one vs one type game, so you you only have to cap two players instead of a team of a few players.
3. Cheesy type players can have large upsets of +400 or higher in some cases.Comment -

This isn't the case. The average Korean pro starcraft 2 gamer will practice up to 80 hours per week in a team house environment. There are plenty of sites/videos that provide past results and player history. Yes, lesser players can fluke a match just like some 200 in the world guy can take a set off of Djokovic but most series in e sports are at least best of 3 so luck alone rarely determines a match up.Originally posted by Ace_of_Spades

Because bookmakers offer different odds on the same outcome of a game, inefficiencies exist in betting markets that are possible to exploit. We're running a service that does just that (value betting). We identify and signal odds deviations between bookmakers, which enables people to place bets that in theory have a positive expected value (+EV), for those familiar with poker. In practice our users have averaged a 2.6% flat ROI per bet over a sample size of more than 200k bets.
We just added e-sports to the list of sports that we are monitoring for these deviations. Although the sample size is still quite small, the early results are looking quite promising. As the e-sports part has just been launched we are looking to get some suggestions for improvements. If you want to try it, send me a PM and we’ll take it from there.
