    Thanks for the heads up. I will check it out when I get home. The browser should alert me.

      I find that when I download a newer version, I get a lot of crashes in the first week or two. Unless it's a brand spanking new version with more bells and whistles, I'll leave it for the time being.

              I just got the update through my browser. It's not a beta.

                  The "check for updates" facility sometimes doesn't work until a few days or weeks after the upgrade has been widely released. I would assume that this is done for noncritical releases to reduce load on the upgrade servers.

                  So if you want to upgrade just do so through the URL posted by the OP.

                      Does anyone here used a Mozilla plugin for vBulletin editing? I've tried BBComposer, which was so-so at best, and now have just started with Xinha, on which the jury's still deliberating.

                          This is a description from the author:
                          "Xinha Here! is a Firefox extension wrapper for the <a href="http://xinha.python-hosting.com/">Xinha HTML editor</a>. It enables WYSIWYG editing in any textarea and text box on any website. Xinha Here! opens a Xinha HTML editor in your browser allowing you to edit the data in a WYSIWYG on any website without copying and pasting to secondary HTML editor. <b>To use Xinha Here! simply select Xinha Here! from the context menu (right click on PC, control + click on Mac) of the desired text area or text box. Please be aware, you will only see the Xinha Here options if you right-click inside a text box or text area.</b> Up will pop a Xinha WYSIWYG HTML editor. Press OK and the valid HTML is pushed back to the original text box. Simple as that.

                          "Because the Xinha editor is installed on your local machine rather then a server it is both portable (use it on any website) and fast (files don't need to be transfered over the net). This extension goes great with the SpellBound spell checker extension. I use it on eBay, my WordPress blog, leaving comments on other blogs and forums, anywhere where HTML is accepted.
                          Current version tested in Windows Firefox 1.0.6 - 1.5.0.1 and Linux Firefox 1.0.7 - 1.5. I've received word that Mac OS X works also. If you've tested it in other versions or OSs please leave a message here.:
                          <br />I'll caution that I've yet to find a vbulletin plugin for Xinha. That doesn't mean that one doesn't exist or that someone isn't create one, just that there's nothing like that <i>yet</i>. So, until such a pluin can be found, unless you're posting on a forum brave (or crazy) enough to permit widespread HTML usage (SBR only allows Mods and Admins HTML functionaility, Xinha won't be all that useful to you.

                          <p>You could <i>also try</i> BBComposer. That has BBCode functionality that comes standard.
                          <br />
                          </p>

                                    With that reach, not to mention mobility, the emphasis would have to be on when.

                                    BTW, since the Mozilla upgrade my NBA league pass doesn't work (on IE?!).

                                      Home Page update:

                                      The new version can be downloaded from the Mozilla website, or the update applied by using the 'Check for Updates' command in Firefox's Help menu.
