I’ve been watching basketball for 50 years. I’ve never seen this before.

Suns thought they were getting an upgrade when they traded Nurkic for Richards. What a sham that team is -poor leadership from the front office, coach, players...

Perkins says he's knocking on the door of top 5 centre with this performance. WHOAH steady on!!

Racist ************! If Jokic were black he'd be calling him the best player of all time regardless of position. Many black players in the NBA like this, including his former teammate Durant who got to see it first hand tonight. I don't mind a little bit of bias but come on lol

            First time in NBA History

            31 points, 21 rebounds, 22 assists, 3 steals.

I was checking the late-night boxes earlier this morning, I saw that, and I was NFW!
I thought about that for a minute, Jokic had to touch the ball pretty much on every play, his usage percentage had to be 90%, it had to be.

What's equally amazing is only four turnovers, when you consider everything, that's an incredibly low number.
I mean I've seen Westbrook turn the ball over four times in a quarter.

Nuggets 149-141 Suns (Mar 7, 2025) Box Score - ESPN

I think OKC would still challenge the West if SGA was sidelined. The Nuggets would most likely be last in the West without Jokic. The only reason I think he won’t win it is because he’s won it before. What a sham.

Huh? How is that a racist take or biased? Perkins don’t give a shit what color he is. He pumps up most players. That was not a knock, that was respect. We’re going to need to see Jokic play a few more years before he can move ahead the Mount Rushmore of Centers.

I love Jokic. I love his game. He is amazing and easily the MVP to me. But can you honestly put him ahead of Kareem , Bill Russel, Wilt, Shaq, Duncan, or Hakeem? I cannot today but he’s quickly moving up. Plus he’s playing at a time where Centers are an anomaly. Hes going up against a lot of skinny big men. The center position is the least significant position in basketball today. He’s just different. It is what it is.

Amazing game by Jokic but the score was 149-141!!! Both teams are straight garbage on defense so their is a million possessions for each time and more opportunities to pile up the points. Jokic is nearly unstoppable in today's NBA because the rim protection is weak and he can shoot the 3 very well. SGA will deservedly be the MVP this year.

                    Eye test game.
OKC and DEN are on national TV, coast to coast.
Like the Celtic game last night, this is a very high-profile game.

One game does not supply enough for an accurate sample size, but this game in OKC will give most of the nation who's the best team in the west, and who is more valuable, Jokic or SGA.

I love SGA, my money is on Jokic for MVP, at plus generous odds.
                    Tons of value there.

The Nuggets can’t beat OKC, even if Jokic puts on a cape. His teammates are too inconsistent, especially Murray. I don’t see them winning a title again.

I agree with this, I still stand by my Jokic MVP wager @+250
Sixteen games left, if Jokic has ten or more monster 3x/2x I believe my bet is safe.
As a former girlfriend of mine used to say all the time, "We shall see".

The media loves SGA. His numbers are just as staggering as Jokic. He’s like a +700 plus/minus. The next person is like +500. OKC has been so good in the West. Having the best team will put him over the top. I believe Jokic is more valuable by a large margin but voters don’t care. Maybe if Jokic was American. I don’t think it’s going to be close this year. I’d love for you to cash though. Maybe if SGA gets hurt, there’s a chance.

Yes I can put them ahead of those centres. He can score from the perimeter like Nowitzki or inside like Shaq, and then there's the passing ability, and the leadership. When anyone asks him if the Nuggets have enough to contend his answer is always YES, regardless of the fact they obviously don't... lifting the confidence of his teammates. The ultimate team player.

Hakeem only had two good years -took him a long time to learn to shoot. Duncan was a forward -he routinely got dominated by guys like Bynum when he tried to play centre. Shaq was/ is just a terrible person -have you heard/ read the stories? Only won 3 rings in spite of having Bryant as his teammate. Don't know about Kareem -before my time and he obviously had a really strong supporting cast (they won a title without him ffs). Wilt & Russell... gtfooh. Basketball was shit in those days. Athleticism no where near what it is now. Most of the league was white Americans (no offense).

You talk about the lack of high quality centres today... does it occur to you that it's harder to be a centre in this day & age? To have to defend Curry or Doncic on the perimeter? Or deal with the defense of big athletic forwards from the weak side?

It was great watching Hakeem school Shaq. Shaq in his prime though was probably the 2nd best centre of all time. Again though, a very brief prime. Whereas Hakeem developed a jump shot Shaq started lifting weights.

Perk has always been a racist oyster. Dirty to whiteys as a player and very biased as a studio analyst ever since he got the job.
