I say YES. He may not have all the measurable Stats you are looking for. 5'11' do not think he is that Fast or how strong his arm is?. But the guy is a winner like his new La RAM coach Mcvay said. I know he played on a loaded UGA team But let's see what he does in the Pro's. He can sit and learn from Stafford and take over when needed. Who knows may prove to be a diamond in the rough being the 7th QB Drafted and 128 overall.
Will Stetson Bennett Prove to be the one of the better QBs in 2023 Draft?

#2Sitting and learning will give him a leg up...also being under McVay's tutelage should benefit him.
Not convinced he has the skill set to be a starting NFL Qb but he has proven the doubters wrong before.Comment -

#7I say NO WAY. And I'll lump Bryce Young in with him.
With the possible exception of Drew Brees...the GREAT NFL Quarterbacks come out of a very similar frame:
*Height: 6'2" to 6'5"
*Weight: 220 to 240 lbs
1) Bryce Young hit the lottery. Talented player, but a lot of guys could look good at Alab.
2) 2x that for Bennett. Great college player. Won't enjoy the game as much after he takes that first big hit.
PS: Atlanta -3 (vs CAROL) looks like a mighty fine bet in Week One.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

There is not a list because none or very few got a shot until approx 10-15 years ago with Brees, Wilson etc.
I'd probably bet against Bennett ever being a starting NFL Qb but I think a lot of guys would have done well if given a shot because they didn't fit the mold. There are always outliers.Comment -

#11Fair points but just to play devil's advocate...until recently, how many smaller QBs have ever been given a real shot?

I'm a Wisconsin guy. Was really glad he transferred to Wisky. Proved his NCSt coach wrong, and he made it.
Props to Brees/Wilson. I'd say their success tied to a few things:
1) Brees was the consummate professional. His preparation and smarts were 2nd to none.
2) Wilson had the right mix of scrambling ability and short-passing accuracy. And playing w/ a great defense helped, too.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#16Georgia was ALL DEFENSE... certainly not QB's.

#18Nope.
nothing special about him.
surrounded by incredible talent that masked his deficiencies.
in the Big Boys league the playing field is neutralized and quarterbacks need to be the difference makers.
He is not it.
do not bump if he has One great game.

#19Chuckster I wish you luck on all of your plays! Always like seeing people hit! I have no idea on anything.... haven't looked at any opening lines. Trying just to get my bankroll lined up with a few books... it's been a pain in the a$$ this year so far lolComment -

i have nothing against the kid, he is a great competitor, but he is more a johnny manziel type athletically in my opinion, maybe an RG3
some brief success but nothing sustained.
johnny was an absolute bust.
RG3 decent for a few years.
may Stetson falls in between.Comment -

#24Guys play hard for him. There was a noticeable change in the Rams offense last week when Rypien was pulled and Bennett came in. He has that "it" factor from what I can tell. Will that translate to starting QB material? I mean he gets to sit behind Matthew Stafford and learn so he's got a chance.Comment -

#25He could end up like a mini-Brady. Everybody sort of writing him off now that he's gone from a good Georgia team. I will admit that the Georgia Qb's that proceeded him were on some very good teams too and couldn't get it done. This guy makes some really really clutch plays and throws under pressure with the game on the line. I think he's a talent. There will be an adjustment to the pro game for him though where a guy like Burrow stepped right in and kicked a*s. I think the OP might be onto something here.Comment -

we all know how that turned out.
the preseason does not mean jack. defenses are vanilla. they do not show all of their blitz packages ets.Comment -

#28I think Falcon win NFC south division. They will play ugly football. Run it down your throat. They can pass just enough to make it work. Best defense in division. The two Arthur's, coach and owner have got the team they want.Comment -

It's amazing that Tampa won that division last year. Understand that Brady had already mentally checked out. One extra year of $$-grab, and he didn't even give Bowles the time of day.
Will be rooting for your Falcons. We'll see how they look on opening day.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment
