Seriously, this isn't hindsight... I would've given him the hook after he loaded the bases, he obviously had lost control of his stuff. But he stays in and allows a run on a wild pitch and then gives up a 3 run homer on the very next pitch.
Somehow he's still in there.

If Wake loses tonight, they're in trouble. Skenes will likely be on the hill tomorrow and although Wake has pitching of their own, LSU's lineup has been flat out better than Wake's here in Omaha.

Yeah, that was pretty much my thought too.
Almost every pitch was floating high and wide.
You don't need to be a catcher to realize the kid had zero command tonight.

He bounced back in the 4th rather nicely but perhaps the damage is done... Wake really hasn't been able to string hits together. They've been mustering offense with batters walked, which is certainly part of the game, but I'd like to see their bats come alive at some point tonight with the pitchers LSU has out there.

I'm thinking WF mounts a comeback, just for shits and giggles, 20 dollars WF, +420 in game live.
It's gravy, why not?

Good luck, I hope you're right, but Wake hasn't looked potent at the plate in any games yet in the CWS.

If it's Skenes v. Lowder tomorrow, I'm on cruise control for the rest of the evening so correct me if I'm wrong, the two of them have a combines won/loss record of 29-2.
I'm all about the pitching, that's a pitching matchup from heaven.
The two best SP (with all due respect to Mr. Dollinger) in NCAA baseball.
How great is that?

As a spectator, yes I'm all for it... As a Wake futures ticket holder, I'd prefer the path of least resistance lol.

Wilken coming up, two men on, this kid is an animal with the stick.
This is not hyperbole, this is the pitcher/hitter matchup of the CWS so far.

Unreal. Wake's offense is in hibernation. They keep getting the leadoff batter on and doing nothing with it. Generate traffic and nothing. Their best hitter strikes out looking on three straight pitches.

Honestly I'd make LSU the slight favorite, they just pass the eye test imo.
Should be a good game though, I hope WF can manufacture some points.

OK, it's gonna happen. I was off on my timing.
I think Skenes may be viewed as even more dominant. Don't think Skenes will be available at Dog odds.
I'll call for this as the opener:
*LSU -120, Wake +100.
*Over/Under: 7.5.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Chucky the Throat says 6.5-7 is "too high" a O/U for Skenes/Lower, and then says he thinks it'll be 7.5

Eddy, take a nap. There's a difference, guy. I think the ODDSMAKER will set it at 7.5.
Yes, 7.5 is too high. Get lost, pal. Take a nap.

Well, well, well... look who responded. You tried so hard to make believe I wrote in invisible ink and now this.
Yeah, start walking it back. We know what you said. You said you thought the O/U would be 4.
Oops, now go stick your snout in Johnny's crotch and tell him he's Ace Rothstein.

Not the cleanest of games so far, but still pretty much as advertised.
In the Stanford/Wake game I meant to post about it the other day. The Stanford manager made a HUGE mistake late in the game. I think it was the 8th inning. All I know is he left that RHP in the game with the lefty warming up. Then, to start the next inning he left the same RHP in that got into trouble. Instead of bringing the LHP in to face the lefty batter, he left in the RHP. The Wake guy got the hit. He should have had the LHP in for that batter. Then, the next batter was a Righty. Instead of leaving the RHP in or bringing in another RHP, he goes to the pen and gets the LHP that should've been in the inning before and the batter before.
I know people can argue L/L or R/R doesn't matter but I would argue the %'s go way up especially in tight games when you play the matchups right. This was a big mistake, and I would argue why they lost the game.

Yeah, Wake wasn't impressive in either of their two wins, and they certainly weren't impressive tonight.
Don't get me wrong, a win is a win, especially at this stage in the season, but you can only live on the edge for so long, and with Skenes on deck, how do the WF batters find their groove all of a sudden? Lowder and his relief don't have much margin for error.

Ummm...you forgot to put the asterisk next to the 4 by the way.

Both teams have solid and deep pitching. LSU more of a taxed pen perhaps so if Skenes gets pushed early that could cost them with a more tired pen. Both teams have good hitting lineups too. Should be a great watch no matter what.

LSU -190 Wake Forest +170 (The Rubber Game)
LSU -190 Wake Forest +170
Total 8 runs flat
Wasn't expecting that line.
Win or go home.
I'm on record of having WF to win it all at +350 on a tournament futures wager.
I'm standing pat, I'm not laying almost 2:1 on a hedge bet.
I'm also on record several times as saying LSU is the team most likely to knock off WF if the Deacs were to go down.
It's now Florida's championship to lose.
No disrespect to the Gators, I've always give them their just due, but I thought they were the third best team coming in.
Dream pitching matchup tonight.

I like your bet. Skenes looks too good to most bettors right now.
Yes. How can you not like Wake at a nice dog price?
