#219Warriors barely won that game a few minutes ago. That was a wide open 3 for the game winner the Kings missed at the buzzer.
Not sure who is gonna win this series? Coin flip in my opinion.Comment -

1) I don't think that # will hold. Fav could flip.
2) Been a Homer series thus far. Doesn't mean that will continue. Hard for Home Team to go 7-0.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#221I've been 0-3 this series and because nofvthat i went total, over.
That said...i woulda picked warriors today and been wrong
My take, coaches won't matter much. Guys were on the same staff last year.
Probly will take warriors game 5 but gotta look at the total and could change. Warriors older team klay steph emptied the tank today. We all know the story-dubs suk on the roaf
Bottom line, good question. Wish i knew.Comment -

#223For all the good Sabonis does them you know it's going to be the Fox & Monk show late. Monk has had a phenomenal season. Fox doesn't have to pretend to be worried about passing these days -great scorer ...maybe his stock has risen above MorantComment -

#232One difference:
*That was Game 6.
The NBA didn't want to lose out on the money from a Lakers' Game 7. The foul differential was dramatic in Game 6. It was a joke.
The Game 7 result was legit, though. Lakers played well and won in SAC.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#235“There’s no doubt in my mind that the Sacramento Kings should have a ring on their finger,” Donaghy told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole. “They were the best team in the league that year. That Game 6 was definitely a situation where towards the end of that game they got robbed.”
According to Donaghy, long time NBA official Dick Bevatta was a fixer of sorts for the league. And in the controversial Game 6, he may have helped change the outcome of the game and eventually, the series.
He claimed several times to several of us that he was the NBA’s go-to guy,” Donaghy said of Bavetta. “He was put on Game 6s to force force Game 7s. I think there’s no doubt in my mind, or a lot of people from the inside of the NBA, they know that they gave the Lakers the benefit of several calls in that game, thinking it was just going to go to a Game 7 and Sacramento was going to win on their home floor. The Lakers win. They win the Championship and really, it’s unfortunate for Sacramento, because they should definitely have a ring on their finger.”During the latest episode of the Purple Talk podcast, we were able to play Donaghy’s comments for long time Kings play-by-play announcer Grant Napear, as well as former Kings shooting guard Doug Christie, who was on the court during that infamous series.
“I believe to this day, it was the worst officiated game in NBA history,” Napear said. “And as bad as that was, and Doug is probably better to talk about this than I, the Kings, in Game 7, and they played all year to get home court advantage, missed 14 free throws in a Game 7. And I can’t blame that on Tim Donaghy or the refs or anyone else.”Comment -

#236Donaghy said game 6 was fixed. didn't ref it.
The referees -- a highly rated crew of veterans Dick Bavetta, Bob Delaney and Ted Bernhardt -- called the Kings for 31 fouls in the game that sent the Lakers to the line for 40 attempts, including 27 in the decisive fourth quarter of the 106-102 L.A. win.Comment -

#239Yes, budwiser. That's accurate.
Here's the way I see it:
*It's not unusual for the NBA Head-quarters to DESIRE a certain result in the playoffs.
*If Bavetta is saying that he was the hit-man to make it happen, I believe it.
One subtle difference about that King/Laker Game 6:
*The fixes usually mean tilting the line on 2 or 3 calls over the course of the game.
*The King/Laker fix was OBVIOUS.
...Even a sports-writer like Bill Plaschke saw it.
...If that Game 6 was played STRAIGHT, Kings win by about 10 pts.
...NBA needed to force-feed that result. And that's exactly what they did.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

And I agree back then they wanted a game 7. They didn't give a shot who won, it was about the ca$h under stern
It was "amazing" how many regular season NBA games on national television/NBC ended up close in the last 2 minutes. unfortunately we got these garbage memories that nobody can and should care about lolComment -

#241One thing that's alarming for the Warriors is they've played 3 close games in this series and Poole has been on bench in crunch time in every one. So regardless of whether you think he is capable, his coach has lost confidence -he would rather have another defender in there.Comment -

the nets refused to put in dfs to end the last 6 minutes of the game, put in o'neale. for reasons only the coach understands.
at the end of the game, kings ball, then of course you want your defenders out there only.
but coaches have favorites. and they're not always right.Comment -
