Avoid NY media and get paid:
Jacob deGrom signed a 5 year / $185,000,000 contract with the Texas Rangers, including $185,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $37,000,000. In 2023, deGrom will earn a base salary of $30,000,000, while carrying a total salary of $30,000,000.

And tomorrow morning, right on schedule, the Rangers will report he has tightness somewhere and will be shut down until they evaluate it.

Three innings pitched, five earned runs. Degrom sucks now, Rangers overpaid lol.

Guess you didn’t watch the game. Clearly not a deGrom fan but don’t think there was 1 solid hit from Philly while he was pitching

He will go into the Hall of Fame as a Met. Got to wonder why the Mets with the richest owner of any sport didn't pony up anywhere close to what DeGrom got in Texas. They've seen the medicals and I believe it will end up being a contract the Rangers will wish they didn't give in a year or two.

Overreact much?
He will be his dominant self assuming he stays healthy, which is a big if...

He will be back on the injured list in no time soon. Paying that much for a guy that pitches 10 games is idiotic.

I wasn't too far off. Pulled in his 4th start with wrist soreness.

If you are referring to when he was with the Mets he got the worst run support possible in a few years. You can't fault a guy that has a 1 era for anything. That was the Mets shit lineup. But everyone talking about the money. Ya he gets injured but you make a wager on how many games he can pitch for you. When he is healthy there isn't anyone that could touch has sack. When he left the Mets I hate to see him go but injury bug is on his back.

And let's face it, the pitching market determines that. You are you going to sign? Most pitchers are getting rocked every night. The new rules favor the hitter now.
