KD only signed with Brooklyn because hometown kid Irving did. There was nothing else keeping him there. Similar thing played out over the summer when Irving demanded a trade and Durant followed in short order. I think Irving had in his mind all along that he'd demand out again at the deadline -easier for teams to get things done at the deadline.

siakam loves to go to the basket. now that big bum poeltl is going to be in the way and his defender. poeltl is not going to be shooting 3s any time soon. there's a reason the spurs suk.

Poeltl has got some offensive talent -he's not Gobert. When Siakam drives he can dump it off to him. I just think he fits into their bullyball style perfectly. They love length on that team.

yeah vanvleet is shooting slightly under 40%, 34% from 3. poeltl is an awful free throw shooter, near 50%. i guess they felt they were in desperate need of a true center

the issue, from what i understand, on the nets-phoenix trade, is durant not the nets. durant insisted on leaving. nets made the kyrie trade thinking they were going for a title with kd. way to go "champ"

nets are actually not a bad team now, but they are out of the title race. 100 to 1. they have length, rebounding, they had finney smith shut down derozan. derozan has killed the nets this season. it makes such a difference to shut down the playmaker. they have bridges who can play the other team's best player, so against the celtics they can put finney-smith on tatum, tatum will try to switch every time, but they have switchable defenders now including bridges. they have an ace 3-point shooter in cam johnson. they suddenly became very deep.

i obviously agree nets are not going to win the title but 100 to 1 odds is wrong. it'd put it more at 45 to 1.

clips come out of the west, and boston title is my latest thought. lotta people think bucks are a threat to boston. i'm sure a lotta people now think the suns are going to win it all. sure, they got kd, an incredible player, and a jerk too who will bail on any team at any time

as for kyrie, free agent after this season, the chances of him signing max $50 million 4 years from the mavericks is what, 0. but that's what he was upset about from the nets, they gave him 3 years instead of 4. problem is, no other team would give him that deal also.
