I have some sad news to share.
Spider has been suffering health issues for at least the last 6 months.
He is a very private person so did not share a lot of information but had been in and out of hospital for months and had been undergoing chemotherapy.
He continued his moderator work on a limited basis even when in hospital and was never out of contact for more than a day or two even when quite debilitated.
In late July he told the moderator crew that his doctors said that they were forced to cease his chemo and wanted him to rest at home until stronger and able to continue.
We have not heard from him since the beginning of August and he has not answered phone calls, emails or social media messages.
Given how utterly reliable he has been over his years with SBR it is now at the point it is impossible to not fear the worst has happened.
I sincerely hope that this message is premature but for now I feel that the time has come to say Vale Spider. It was an honor to have known you and thank you for all you did here at SBR.
