NBA playoffs have been extremely physical. That was a phantom call, but there weren't many of those. That's why the USA dominates the olympics, because they are the most physical, most athletic players by far.

America has lots of black people. Black people like running & jumping, so basketball is by far their favourite sport. Most other countries in the world are either much smaller than USA or simply don't give a fcuk about basketball. He's not a bum at all. You're just infatuated with offense, offense, offense... which is why you fell in love with the Blazers so much despite the fact that most of them cats couldn't guard a mannequin, including Lillard.

Gobert led the league in blocks by a good margin like he always does, and is a monster on the glass. A lot of his influence on the game doesn't even show up on the stat sheet because time and time again his mere presence scares ball handlers away from the paint, so you get some wonky possessions from the opponent.

The Jazz front office figured if they could have his rim protection and rebounds, they'd surround him with shooters and an elite player like Mitchell. Maybe it wasn't the right move, who knows, but Gobert certainly isn't a pussy. And yes, I do think the NBA calls a lot of ticky tack stuff (both ways) even in the playoffs, and it's not exactly a boon to his game... Moreover, Conley's absence reverberates throughout the Jazz offense, affecting even Gobert on that end of the floor.
