not sure if it's just me, but it feels like there's a strong growing sentiment - which has now reached the average joe bettors - that sports betting is a waste of time, fruitless endeavor, fool's errand.. whatever you want to call it. it just doesn't excite anyone, no one finds it interesting to talk about anymore, etc.
not that those sentiments about sports betting haven't been around forever because they have, but it's seeming to be really magnified right now due to all the excitement and discussion about cryptos. people would far prefer to throw a few thousand towards different cryptos and hope one of them takes off, rather than place numerous sports bets per day hoping to come out profitable
like i said it could just be me overthinking things, but it feels like we've hit a real inflection point now because even casuals have adopted this line of thinking and are practicing it too.. their cryptos are in-action 24/7/365 and that's far more appealing than grinding through the zero sum game of sports betting. in fact, they don't even care or think about sports betting anymore, don't look at lines, don't even know who's playing.. none of it
