Huh? It took them a week to get power after 3 inches of snow. It’s been freezing and 2 feet of snow in pa for weeks and my lights didn’t even flicker. Roads clear as can be. Blue states always better prepared.

natural gas generator kicked in no problem. Back up diesel and propane if needed. Very minimal costs. The only problem I had this go round was no water to flush toilets. I have plenty of drinking water and can generate water with dehumidifier but didn’t want to waste it on flushing toilets, so I used my pool water. Pain in the ass to grab a bucket of water in freezing cold to take a shit. I was almost about to run a sump pump from the pool to the bathroom but I already had too many wires all over the place. I could comfortably live off the grid for 90 to 120 days. Probably could go longer if necessary.
