there is no one that would have said before the game yesterday the chiefs would score under 10 points. even on a bad day you would think 17 points to 20 points.

They made it all the more painful by converting that 4th down on that last drive to set up a 1st down at the 14. (-322 live at that point to score at BM). I just knew they wouldn't.

That was on clay. I don't think there is any chance of her winning the match but 2-1 Alexandrova is actually pretty likely.

there was no reason to hedge for this one u could have saved that half a dime. trevisan is talented not quite as much as she is annoying on the court though. and that talent and game is built for clay not as much on hard. alex has too much power for her here

with that said the reason many heavy favs like this lose is because of underestimating the opponent, bad tactics, overall nerves etc. alexandrova is no stranger to nerves and trevisan will make her work some probably more in the 2nd set though. alexandrova can hit too flat a lot of times resulting in many balls into the net. longer rallies favor trevisan who naturally knows to play a few feet back behind the baseline than normal. a match last night saw savinykh, who should of beaten cornet who is smart enough to know to nullify power by backing up, ultimately became the downfall for savinykh who had no answer to that simple tactic. savinykh was on the top of her game, for her, with power strokes all over the court and with cornet 5 feet behind the baseline could have easily drop shot cornet to death which would have caused cornet to have to make a decision on whether to play so deep also have her exerting energy running to the net. but no savinykh as most power players was caught up in the moment and not thinking and the better seasoned veteran cornet outlasted her as savinykh couldnt maintain the winners. match reminded me years ago of cibulkova/radwanska, radwasnka was being hit all over the court and off it and all cibulkova had to do was hit drop shots but was tickled by the fact she could make radwanska look silly exerting so much energy.
