No fans, no concessions etc. When will salaries be lowered ?? Im.not sure we can expect fans back within next 2 years, maybe not for more then that with other variants of covid.

Expect a work stoppage in Mlb after this season.
Cba is up on December 1, and Mlb with limited capacity is going to have dramatic effect on cash flow. Some teams worse off than others

NFL cap is down 2021 $20mm per team ($180m)

NBA down to $105mm per team from $116

MLB every club lost over $25mm last year by playing, the owners will have to lick out the players unless there is headwinds made w this modified CBA going into the already delayed 2021 season

The salaries are never going down if we keep watching/supporting a crappy tv product. Viewership has to go down tremendously for lower salaries. NCAA football, the NBA bubble, and MLB were atrocious to watch, but we ate it up because it was live content

NFL was not as bad of a tv product as the others. The other sports were horrible to watch. The NFL playoffs should have been pretty good. Bama/OSU had terrible ratings.

This. Stop watching and the salaries will come down. When your favorite sitcom has bad tv ratings the show gets cancelled no matter how much you like the show.

Pittsburgh Pirates as a team are going to head into the season most likely with an entire team payroll of the less than the top 10 MLB players

it's criminal. They should be kicked out of the league, let their cheapskate owner be a AA team owner if he refuses to use the welfare $ that MLB already gives him

can't say I feel sorry for MLB owners when they sign mediocre bums like Didi Gregorius to a two year 28 million dollar contract!......I don't ever want to hear the owners cry poor mouth, foul, or poverty when teams constantly overpay skyrocketing salaries to these athletes.

I disagree, Archie...that is their prerogative...it's called money ball...A's have been doing it for years and have fielded have some damn good teams with low payrolls and salaries...on the flip side, everyone used to hate the Yankees and bash George Steinbrenner for doing the exact opposite!...going out and trying to buy a championship year in and year out by overpaying for players and by spending hundreds of millions of dollars and sign them to ridiculous contracts.

So the NBA has an agreement that basically levels out free agency year by year meaning the cap us lowered of course but its also artificially propped up higher than it should be to stabilize free agency and avoid 200 1 year contracts.

Next, the NBA pays on an escrow system now, holding back 80% of players salaries till year end, which helps owners cash flow

Lastly, look for the cap to drop again next year and perhaps simply just not rise for the foreseeable future unless a big money deal w China or an expansion team comes into the league.

I fully expect MLB to add 2 teams in the next 36 months to compensate ownership for the losses
