I've never seen it so bad. All the bashing is destroying this place. Many of the good ones ran off long ago. I have not visited betpoints, poker, or horse forum in better than a year.

This is a serious post! Somebody needs to take control of the ones, jealous of another.

Agree. No one should have to be called insults like "parasite", "dumb shit" and "coward" at a sports betting forum, for trying to help out no less. Uttering these phrases should be ban on sight.

I would LOVE to know when you guys think the heyday was and what you contributed during that time?

The forum has always been like this, and much worse during some of the "heyday"

I would personally say when posters were making more videos (cougarbait cooking, brock drinking white russians in his parents spare bedroom, chiarchie and sammystache having free throw contests) was the best, but even that was over the course of a few years

The forum is FINE right now, lakerboy, morino, seaweed, sammy stache, brock all are making picks

I posted in morinos thread after he picked Alabama that it is great to be a georgia bulldog....that gets said by any student, fan, player in the SEC east with their team. Im not sure about the west and other conferences.

He called me a dumb shit for saying that. I didnt actually report it, but i didnt start ANYTHING with him. i have no problem with him saying it either, but noone should get mad if i start trolling him back

People trashing each other in players-talk isn't new. There's been wars in players-talk for years. I guess my theory on the heydey is this:


I think for me it's a lack of discussion on why people are taking a position in game. It's easy for people to make a thread of "XXX is the lock of the century. <EOT>". It's harder for people to write 4-5 paragraphs on *why* specifically they think that.

Perhaps It's just me looking back over the last 10 years with rose colored glasses.

Perhaps it's just the old man in me yelling at these younger guys to get off my lawn and show their work.

Perhaps it's actually gotten worse.

Perhaps it's that posters aren't actually doing any work and are just coin flipping games then posting.

I don't know which one is right. And I'm not trashing anyone who makes picks here in players-talk. Certainly the rare picks that I post in PT could use some additional explanation, but I try to make a logical case for whatever side I'm playing. I'd love to see more posters actually explain why they take a side.

friendly banter is warranted and i like some ball busting when there is still respect. i don't mind the trolling when both parties are giving it and such and appear comfortable dishing and taking. when it gets more advanced than that, it is a problem.

though i have been here since 2010 i really only started posting often in the last year. i usually just had read posts and never chimed in. i like the site a lot. feels like being in a fun sports book with your buddies. i did not expect as much vitriol at times really. doesn't mean i am soft. it just means i don't come here for that.
