    Cardinals/Padres Discussion
Can Padres actually win this? STL has Flaherty going, whereas SD likely has to look to the pen, which was already used heavy in the first two games.

Kinda feels like a game where if you think Flaherty can go 5+ quality innings then Cardinals win.

I guess you can make the case for SD that their bats woke up and can carry momentum into game three.

Hope the Padres win. If wagering I'd look at the Over before anything else.

Flaherty has a 9.45 ERA away from home, that's what would give me pause for backing the Cards here. however, i'd say the Cards pen is a little less worn out than the Pads who will have to rely on theirs fully. i like the idea of them starting Richards who could possibly give them a solid 3+ innings, but overall i suppose it doesn't matter who gets it first since everyone will obviously be on a short leash

the bats on both sides look extremely focused and we're seeing a high % of barrels. while the Cards lineup and available PH's aren't nearly as sexy looking as the Pads, they're all mostly grizzled vets with tons of postseason experience who know how to work counts and execute near flawlessly in small ball, moving runners over, getting guys in, etc.

it's hard betting an Over in series-deciding games because the tendency is for hitters to tighten up a bit and squeeze too hard on their handles, but there's just no way i could justify betting the Under either. it'll be around 90 degrees with 40%+ humidity today by first pitch and that is bad news for Under betting even despite the late afternoon start where there's some shadows to deal with

Cards are an extremely well run organization, have a professional/emotionally controlled approach, are very feisty, and know how to elevate their game play in the postseason. on the other hand, the Pads offense is incredibly scary and powerful, and it's possible their comeback yesterday may really help boost them mentally to keep fighting thru despite their very depleted pitching (though i'm not much of a believer in the concept of momentum overall). i'm probably going to lay off this one entirely unless i see something enticing in-game

It's a bullpen by committee game for the Pads today.

Not a fan of Stammen at all. If he is not on, he can give up a lot of runs in a hurry.

Nothing to discuss here. Books politely asking you to take the card's with flaherty.

I'm not betting this game. SD bats are hot. Both teams pitchers suck. Having said all that just checking in to make sure you're aware that the Padres have never beat the Cards in a playoff series. The Cardinals have the best record alltime in winner take all playoff games of all teams. The Padres have lost 9 out of their 10 last playoff home games. This is is a solid no bet position. Even if you somehow win it was a stupid bet fading all those numbers I just dropped. Why didn't you bet the under F5 cubs/fish if you needed bases action today? Now that was a solid bet. This one is foolish even if you do pull it out.

I had Marlins ml+180 big. I'm doing good. I'm well aware of the cards history. I will take my chances. Thanks. Good luck to you

The Padres have not been in the playoffs in 15 years. What does any of that have to do with the 2020 teams?

It just seems weird to me that you and a couple other guys on here will use logic like bet Astros cause the Twins have lost 17 playoff games in a row, bet fish cause they've never lost a playoff series but then those same angles tell you to take Cards tonight, never lost to SD in a playoff series but you guys are on SD. I don't get it man. Anyway I'm not touching this game so I hope you guys win your bets on it. The Cubs big 3 rizzo, bryant and baez have a combined .140 ba in the playoffs since game 7 of the 16 WS. Lmfao. That's horrendous. Easy $$$$ on the fish today. That cubs team is gonna get blown up next season. It's hard to believe that team with all that talent rizz, kb, baez, cont, hey, happ, schwarbs, hendricks, yu, lester only made 1 WS. NL was down too during their core years. The Dodgers were their only serious competition since 15. Unreal.
