Hell even Dallas won. ROFL. The special teams coach walks home or doesn't get to ride the plane back.

Not sure how you're equating today's results, thus far, with the books doing well.

I an assure you, that's not the case overall.

A down day for the books so far.

For the Chief's game I believe the books took a position on SD for the spread and while that worked out for them these favorites winning, in many of the games, including KC is not good from the book's perspective.

It's game by game for the spread, to be honest, there are different situations in the market.

But bettors weren't buying upset moneylines today and they are emboldened by their winnings.

The books take the hit. Let's just look at one game.

Let's assume there's one bettor on each side. Now I know many think books want to split the money, but I've shown that's not true. But let's asume it's 50/50 among the betting population.

SBR Odds reports Pinny reporting Pit -267 to Den +232. Let's also keep it simple with the standard (albeit suicidal) degen betting method...Guys walks in lays his $267 on Pit to win $100. His weed connoisseur cousin in Colorado says hell naw and puts his $100 down to win $232.

So what happens for the book? He's collected $367 and if Pitt wins Pinny has to pay it all out, but if there's an upset, Pinny only pays out $332, keeping 35 bucks.

Never mind that the public slammed the favorites anyway, for the most part, not giving the books a chance to take in enough on those dogs. They aren't worried about that, not one bit.

Like I first said, those bettors are emboldened and the books know they will give it all back and then some.

The Eagles were bet to favorites. The opening line had the Rams favored which means the books had it right.

Winning and covering are two different things. I can't imagine that many people play huge ML favorites outside of bigdaddy.

I'm pretty square and won on Atl, Den, NYG, Ind, and Lac. Lost on Car, Phi, Hou, and Nyg 1st half.

My opinion on this is very simple. MOST of the rule changes over L30 years have favored the offense and been pro-passing.

So hard to play defense. Think about the interference and now w/ all the contact hits. It's NO LONGER football, if u want to extend the argument.

Net impact is that the TOP QBs really don't have bad games. Even their off-games are pretty good. At least good enuf to win s/u (usually).
