The medical subcommittee of the Big Ten return to competition task force met with eight presidents and chancellors of conference universities, and a revote on when to start the fall football season could possibly take place Sunday, sources told ESPN.

they know they blew it sooooo bad and now the pain of those empty pockets and seeing others line theirs today is killing them.
this vote will be like the 2nd vote to decide coach Norman Dale's fate after Jimmy talks in Hoosiers.

Pac12 a bunch of pussies. Only big conference sitting out now. They had no chance at winning the playoff anyway. All soft ass liberals that fold under pressure. ACC and SEC woulda rolled their ass again.

It's not going to pass
6 of the schools are online only, the campuses are closed
Maybe a spring season, but fall football is out of the question

I wouldn't bet on this
Big10 bylaws require 60% vote to overturn
Iowa, a previous yes, has since suspended all campus activity.
MN is completely shut down, and could file an injunction
So OSU, NEB are yes. That leaves 12 schools, they need 6 yes votes from 11 schools that previously voted no, and of whom 6 have online only classes due to closed campuses.

LOL we don't even have HS football in this State because of Covid
You'll get title 9 lawsuits because you now need womens lacrosse started as well
Everyone talking like this is a done deal for a fall start, I'm not seeing it. Spring or after new years sure...
And don't forget, Michigan is out. With no OSU/MI game what's the point of the Big10

How good would the Wilberries have been if Roy didn't die?
As the Big Ten coaches and teams watched from home on the first full Saturday of a college football season, the dark weeks for the conference were finally given a ray of hope.

The thing is they won’t be able to start until late October, so how will that work? How can they possibly be considered for playoffs anyways

They're not gonna play. Meanwhile, after Va-Va Tech was postponed, the ACC said that they'll need at least eight teams for the season to continue. The fact that they're even talking about that is not a good sign.

Did you mean Schlinder's list?
So what you're saying is that you would be in favor of rounding up all the B1G athletes and placing them into concentration camps, feeding them only porridge and dandelions, until you deem it safe to come out and play tackle football?
I'd have to say I disagree there, Goebbels.

Yeah if anything you would think they would be erring on the side of caution even more so now. BYU army also postponed next week, looks like that woulda been a good one actually
A plan to for Big Ten play is expected to feature an Oct. 17 starting date. That would allow the league to compete for the College Football Playoff.

They couldn't vote today, they are short 2 votes.
OSU says Tiesday deadline or they and Nebraska will sue Big10 over State non profit laws
There isn't enough votes here...

There are 2 types on SBR
Those in the "know"
And everyone else
Look...OSU + NEB might get the Presidents to vote yes on a Spring deal, but they are ineligible for playoff anyway now since they cant get 10 games in so there's zero point to a season unless you hype a MI/OSU game as a battle of the century, but MI is a no vote here

What the hell are you talking about?
An Oct. 17 start would allow Big Ten teams to play eight games in a nine-week window, with a league title game Dec. 19.
The College Football Playoff field is scheduled to be revealed Dec. 20.

It's too dangerous to play. It will be too cold to play now. The players will be dying on the field. Covid and cold weather is a recipe for disaster.

You need 6 wins and a plus .500 record to compete in NCAA post season
If it's a conference only schedule how many Big10 teams will qualify?
Let me answer for you. 3, maybe 4 will qualify.
There is zero incentive for the Rutgers or Marylands or Indiana's to play.
2 that are incentivized are MN + MI, both are NO
So Iowa just closed its campus that's a toss up vote....leaving MSU, WI, PSU, PD, ETC as votes that MUST be yes to move fwd.
How do you think the governor of WI (D), MI (D), PA (D), IN, IA, etc are lobbying the University presidents here in their respective states?
