Yeah, He cost me that Under! He came into the game with a 27.00 ERA and it actually went UP to 32.5 when he left. And they bring in Ryan to relieve Kimbrel and Ryan had a 9.0 ERA coming into the game. Cubs need somebody to close out a game!

His last two seasons have been quite possibly the worst run I’ve seen for a closer ever. No lie

He was best closer in history arguably in prime, struck out everyone.

I thought he retired a long time ago? Got replaced by Craig Ferguson and then some tool after that.

Watched his appearance from last night this morning.

His stuff was actually good, his curve is just not getting any swings, he must be tipping it somehow . I think he'll be okay, maybe a short trip to DL for an "injury"

Didn’t even know he was still in the league. Remember how dominant he was 8-10 years ago when I followed baseball more. I guess those days are long gone.

                                    Well that settles it.

Kimbrell will be fine and will prob play a big part in the Cubs playoff run

Possibly. Also, he has had back to back seasons now where he has not had a regular routine for the season. Last year he was on the shelf for the first 2 months trying to get a deal done, and then COVID changed everything in 2020. Some players can have their mechanics get flustered if normalcy changes.

Yeah, most of his stuff actually wasn't that bad. There might still be something there, it's hard to say. They need to throw him out there whenever they can, in low pressure spots blowouts either way. Problem is Cubs have mostly been in close games with leads.

Craig Kimbrel has the job, is being paid as a closer & Cubs would love to possibly flip him at deadline if excelling.

He was terrific from Aug 14th on, insane 53.1 K% Eyes v 14.3 BB% Grimacing face but only 2 saves.

                                          Jeremy Jeffress from Aug 14th on, 18.5 K% v 16.9 BB% but recorded 7 saves.

They need to use him as an opener like Tampa does. Get easy 6 outs to start the game.
