Hung the flags yesterday for my old man... the most important day of the year for him. A day to reflect on why our freedoms exist and what courage really means. Thank you to our fallen who died for us.

Yeah it seems a lot of people can’t grasp that.

The only issue I have with this Lock, is why use the word "especially"? The sacrifice is and was the same, from the Revolutionary War to present day.
My thoughts today are a tad different than Memorial Days of the past however--I can't help but think if these sacrifices were in vain, with this concept that liberty can be temporarily suspended if people are getting sick.

Agreed. I should have left out the especially part.

In the past, I would order a double Jameson, and leave it at the bar with a napkin that said, "This is for the ones who didn't make it home." This year I left the drink on my counter top.

JJ can’t even get his holidays correct.....pitiful.
On a more important note...I’d like to take a moment to remember my 7 classmates and the many others who sacrificed their lives serving their country.
Thank you for protecting our freedom.

My father's older brother lost his life serving for the air force in 1943. May God bless his soul.
