Not possible. It's in the Constitution; the date cannot be changed. Not by the President. Not by the Senate. Not by Jared Kushner. Not by Mitch McConnell or any other crooked Republican.

Congress has the power.
What is one polling place is held open until 12:01am on Nov. 4? That's a yes?
Not saying it will happen, but this doesn't necessarily mean they change the date entirely?

LOL it would take an act of Congress to repeal the Federal act passed in like 1840 or something that streamlined all this (because of the telegraph it was now easier to do it all at once)
The Constitution actually gives the States 35 days before the 1st WEDNESDAY in December to send it electorates to the Capitol.

If that Democratic Dictator Franklin D Roosevelt could not get away with that, no one can. Barring any unforseen disaster where it is physically impossible for someone to travel, the answer is NO.

What happen is there is a huge covid outbreak in certain areas on November 3? Do they keep all the polls open? Huge long lines? And if people are still in line all day? It's going to be a total mess. Totally predictable. Guarantee there will be lawsuits to keep some polling places open.

They aren’t postponing the election. Free money.
you may see expanded early and mail in voting.

What if it's held Nov. 3 but there's some individual closures and long lines and a judge orders one polling place to stay open past midnight? You lose?

That’s a valid question but even if the deadline is extended, it’s unlikely they’re extended until after midnight. They would still have to go through the process of changing the election date.
There should be more focus on mail in voting but we’re dragging our feet on that. At this point, It’s going to be an unmitigated disaster for many states.

Would they? If it starts Nov. 3 but just continues beyond midnight, is that a change in election date? I ask, I don't know.
Absolutely on mail-in, but Trump is fighting it like a madman. It's his ready excuse du jour.

I stand corrected . . . somewhat. Congress has the power to change the date of the election, but seeing as how Democrats control the House, there's 0 percent chance this might happen in 2020.

Here's an interesting scenario
What is some rouge liberal Govenor extends voting in her State because of a 2nd wave...
Say Michigan or California....and the electorates aren't determined timely or are unable to be determined due to late votes being added.
The GOP sues to get an injunction on the results thus eliminating the electorates from MI or CA....Trump would win in a landslide.
I can see a liberal Govenor doing this and SCOTUS throwing out the results from that State

What do you mean by that? The state doesn't get its electoral votes? I don't think that's possible.

Biden or Trump dies before 11/3/20 +450
Biden and Trump both living on 11/3/20 -600
That's fair.

Could happen.
Biden looks old, and Trump eats cheeseburgers in bed, alone, at night.
Plus Trump isn’t getting any of his sex-for-hire cardio.
