#21StubHub is not offering refunds to the buyer. They are giving them 120% in credit, not even offering you your cash back is bullshit. Now as a seller they are taking the cash right out of your account. Also if you are a seller you will now have to wait 5-7 days after the event played to get paid. So if I sell tickets today for a mlb (any sport) game in September StubHub will hold my money and collect interest on it for the next 5 months before they pay me. They will make a ton of money just from that aspect aloneComment -

You cannot accept payment and offer credit solely as return of payment for a product or service not rentered.Comment -

Depending on state, and on the contract you agreed to when purchasing the tickets, there are options. One, in New York state, for example, says they don't have to refund ticket $. They just have to give you another ticket.Comment -

Not gonna examine every state, but in general if they can't perform, they still have to refund (can't profit from the breach by keeping the money). I paid for the right to see X game played on Y date. If they can't perform because of the pandemic, fine, I can't sue you for damages for not playing the game as long as you refund my ticket (hard to seek additional damages anyway since all you missed out on was entertainment).
Court of public opinion will make them cave anyway once it gets more publicity.Comment -
