News just said CA Governor says their modelling says 58% of Californians will be infected in the next 8 weeks.

That's over 400,000 new people infected per day on average. On average!

No medical system can cope with that.

Italy has had only 40,000 cases confirmed in total, and has 50% more people than California. To put into perspective what the Gov just said.

Means nothing. People are still out and about doing whatever they do normally. They put tape on the floor in Walgreens so people stand 6 feet apart in line. Homeless drug addicts still roaming around while cops drive by. Not sure what the Lockdown is designed to do, but everything that was open is still open and everything that was closed remains closed. Did finally score a box of pasta though...hadn't been able to grab one all week.

I stand by my assessment that the 60% number is based on people being dumb and not doing the things necessary to slow down the spread. That being said, I can see how that scenario isn't necessarily out of the picture yet.

I'm in California and I'm sitting in my office at work. The "lockdown" is highly overrated. Many businesses still open. I work in construction and many construction projects are exempt. Mostly businesses that your wife would blow your money at like makeup stores, department stores and salons are closed.
