The 2020 World Series of Poker will offer a new event, the $1,500 Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’emTournament..

This event is similar to a typical bounty tournament – every player will be a bounty – but the majordifference is not all bounties will have the same value.
There will be 100 “Mystery” bounties. Each one will be worth at least $2,500 and could be worth as much as$250,000. The total value of the “mystery” bounties will be $1,000,000. All other bounties, the “standard”bounties, will be worth $100.Remaining funds go to the regular prize pool paid out based on finish and pay out the standard 15% of the fieldsize.

I'm in the group that thinks re-entry is good, but not at the WSOP. It's the most prestigious series in the world. If I'm traveling 2-5 hours for a $300 tournament then I definitely want to be able to re-enter if I get coolered 30 mins in. WSOP is different.

This is a very neat concept and should definitely draw well. I'm guessing you don't find out your bounty amount until you get to the cage?

Bounty tournaments certainly reduce your ROI but they also reduce variance which is nice.

If you get to find out the bounty you win at time of knockout, it would make it like a bingo parlor atmosphere waiting for the next one and hoping its not 250k

I wondering if they're capping the field or they'll take as many as they can get. Will make the all-in's very interesting since someone could be winning a potential quarter-million on the river.

What would suck is if you were the $250k bounty, so you have to try and win to claim it rather than just simply knock someone out.

I would assume each person will get a numbered chip/card to identify which are the special bounties. I doubt people will know their bounty ahead of time to prevent collusion. Otherwise, someone who knows they are the $250k bounty could dump their chips to someone on the condition they split the bounty.

i couldnt get off work for the bye week of July 4th so ill be there June 21-27th. Playing the deepstack championship & colossus. Maybe the tag team event if my buddy can make it out. Really wish I could be there for this mystery bounty. Might buy pieces of some guys on-line for that. Wonder if mark-ups will be high in that event considering the bounty payouts
