Big card for me 2marro!! Posted a couple of these in the other thread weeks ago but will re post them here:
Wyoming -7... this one my favorite plays of this bowl season. I couldn’t have made a more perfect matchup if I wanted to!! Both teams are incredibly run heavy which is perfect for Wyoming! Gsu runs 60+% of the time and they facing a wyo run d that ranks top 10 in every key category in defending the run, 2.8 ypc allowed which 6th in the county, only 102 rushing yards a game against good for 5th in the country! After gsu realizes they won’t have success on the ground and try to go to the air they won’t find much more success only averaging 6.4 yards per pass (107th in nation) and wyo will be able to send the house putting pressure in the qb face all game.
On the other side the cowboys are even more run dependent rushing the ball on almost 67% of their plays!! Again gsu is Taylor made for wyo, gsu defense allows 5.3 ypc and over 200 rushing yards a game playing against the 106th ranked schedule in the country!! Wyo is gonna dominate this game on the ground. I think we looking at a dominating performance here in a game I have the cowboys winning 31-10!!!
I also have the under 49 I posted weeks ago in the other thread. I’d still play it at 47.5., might as well make 3 bets in this game, wyo-1/under 53.5 2 team 6 point teaser for a little insurance!!Comment -

I don’t love this play as much as Wyoming by any stretch but I still think this a solid play. This one shouldn’t shock anyone as I been banging the Hokies drum ever since they made the qb change at end of duke game. Since hooker took over at qb Hokies only lost 2 games, I 1 point loss to the Irish in a game hooker didn’t play, i have no doubt they win that game had he played. Then that nail biter against uva to end the season. This a top 15 team with hooker at qb imo.
I just can’t see a wr who is no threat to pass playing qb beat a bud foster defense who holds opponents to 3.8 ypc on the season in fosters last game as defensive cord. You know these kids gonna be going all out to send him out on top!! That the main difference in this game imo. Both teams have QBs who are threats to run but hooker is dangerous throwing the ball while Bowden is not, much easier to defend the guy who can’t throw!!Comment -

This one kinda tough, I tend to like teams who have new coaches who appear to be turning programs around. Mac brown with unc, saterfield with ville today, not sure klieman on their level but kinda same situation., problem is he facing the toughest opponent of the 3 imo.
Love this navy team and service academies have been great in bowl games recently. Dispelling the myth that extra time to prepare helps teams defend the option. I went into detail about this when discussing the AF play, my feeling is having extra time to prep for the option is all well and good but none these teams are able to duplicate these option attacks in practice, just no way they mimic the way these teams run it.
Speaking of the option the 1st obvious thing to look for teams playing against it is their run defenses and k-st run d is not good allowing 4.8 ypc on the season and they have been gashed by the better run teams they have faced this year., Texas, tcu, and Mississippi state all went for over 200 yards vs them. Okie lite ran for 373 yards on this k-st d!! None of this bodes well to stop a navy team who tops in the nation rushing for 358 yards a game!! This navy team with Perry as trigger man has a added dimension as you have to account for the pass. They often have him drop back in shotgun and just let him take off with the option to throw which makes them even tougher than the traditional option teams, they also have a dive back who is incredibly explosive. Make no mistake this navy team has legit big play weapons in several spots.
On the other side k-st is incredibly run dependent themselves which plays right into navy hands as they 12th in country allowing only 3.3 ypc and only allowing 115 rushing yards per game against. Navy weakness is defending speed on the outside but k-st doesn’t really have the horses to take advantage of this only throwing for 180 yards a game.
These are 2 of the most efficient red zone offenses in the nation however navy red zone defense ranks 30th in the country while k-st a abysmal 129th!! So even if both teams able to move the ball expect cats to settle for Fgs while navy punches in all their chances. This should hopefully negate k-st strength of getting off the field on 3rd and 4th down.
Ultimately while I think k-st another school who made the right hire and heading in right direction they just drew a very tough matchup here vs a 10 win navy team who’s only 2 losses were against ND and Memphis who both significantly better than k-st. I like navy to control the top and hit big plays when the cats are worn down,Comment -

I’m kinda kicking ass in those espn bowl confidence pools. I missed like all the 1st handful of games other than sdst but I put all those shit bowls 1-5 confidence points so didn’t hurt me too bad. Haven’t missed a pick with more than 15 confidence is I think where I put smu. In pretty good shape so far.Comment -

Yea you can pretty much throw out coaching angles in this one, both very good., Why I like horns is because they were not healthy hardly all year after the LSU game. They played w those fukks and prob should have beat them if not for a few red zone mistakes. Now they healthy again and they were considered a top 10 team at beginning of year. That might have been bit much but surely they every bit as talented as Utah imo.Comment -

Bud Fosters last game as D Coordinator, he should draw up a great plan for the day to keep Bowden at bay. On the other side Kentuckys D is 12th in the Country in scoring at only 18.4 points per game. I see 24-17 with lots of running.Comment -
