They just paid both of our teams half of the 1st place prize. It only makes sense for all of us to get half the 2nd place prize(2500 poker points as well) since we were the top 2 teams. Any contest i've ever been in sports, poker or otherwise would be chopped up this way.

exactly, world and central should get the prizes they 'won' (ie, world choked its way to and central floundered its way to); you guys split first, you guys should split second in the same way...

and yes, congrats to both teams that won, as ya'll both looked like shit on day one.... each had an epic day, respectively, on days 2 (east) and 3 (west), and then traded blows on the final day to tie....

all in all, excepting central's pathetic display, it was another great world cup with drama all the way down to the final trny!

great job by sbr throughout, well run and great prizes given out!!!!

No you didn't, you paid out the same amount of betpoints and left out a bunch of poker points. 5kx24 is equivalent to 10kx12. Get ready for the rest of the east and west team members to cause a stink once they wake up. In a poker tournament, if 2 players are heads up and decide to chop the money, they split BOTH 1st and 2nd place money. Same with a golf tournament or any sports betting tournament. I really can't fathom how you don't understand this maybe you should ask one of your superiors(sbr lou or sbr john) what their take on the matter is?

Thanks for the contest SBR. I commend all the posters who commented on the initial payout ruling who properly explained in detail how the original decision made absolutely zero sense instead of just bashing and throwing haymakers and not contributing anything productive to have the decision reviewed and corrected. I think the misunderstanding was what the top prize was worth, not if teams should split 2nd.

I'm guessing Drew thought both teams were paid the full first prize amount and therefore eliminated 2nd place altogether in the beginning
