Eye test is ridiculous. Rarely is something as it seems. Very difficult to win with such a poor method.

You're not wrong on how they come up those lines. Notice the NBA runs a little high to account for free throws at the end (regardless of the score), but do so especially when the original line is close. Even those markets now how streaky the NBA can be.

But how they come up with the lines isn't as important as how we come up with a line. Right now we, the bettor, can do better than the book.

But the vig is a killer and a great equalizer.

We get shorted on the dogs and gouged on the faves, constantly.

What I mean here is that factors from pregame to during the game to the market environment overall can play a role. We have to be prepared with a gameplan before the game begins so that, like I say, when the bullets start flying we're not confused or blind in the fog of war. Start make careless decisions and bets get lost.
