Va Tech at Florida St, who ya got and why?

Last NCAAF game of the weekend boys. I have a small lean towards Va. Tech and I like under 55 in this one. My numbers show a low scoring game, FSU winning by 3ish.

FSU retuning 6 starters on offense, 3 on defense. New coach in Willie Taggart bringing an up tempo spread offense. FSU losing 6 of it's top 7 tacklers on defense, they have a New defensive coordinator in Harlon Barnett with a new 4-2-5 scheme.

Va Tech returning 7 offsenive starters, 5 on defense. Even with that Bud Foster has his work cut out for him. He has little to no returning experience in the Linebackers and has lost two starting corners and a safety. While the D is young and won't be as good as last year's very stout D, they're being projected as a strong unit.

Weather wise it looks like it'll rain all afternoon and might cease around game time.

What are your thoughts on the Total and Spread?

I am on Virginia Tech. I think they are able to keep Florida St. offense in check and keep the game close if not win outright so 7 to 7.5 points is too much for Florida St. to lay. As for the total, I'm off that but 55 points is a lot so I lean to the under.

I'm taking the same approach as to LSU last night. FSU has so much talent that should be showing up this year. That 16 and 17 recruiting class were right near the best. Cam Akers is a legit heisman contender if FSU turns it around. Plenty of reasons to take VT though too.

I'm going to take the more talented team here. I'll take FSU -7 and not playing a total. 31-20

I like fsu's decisions on offense and defense already. when youre a school thats gonna get athletes you can play fast and defensively I like the 4-2-5, thatll give qbs a lot to think about, you can mix some nice disguises in that format, blitzing corners, rovers playing linebacker to give a 4-3 look, corner double. now they just need experience.

Numbers point to a 2-3 point victory for FSU at home.

VT +7.5 is an attractive play, giving FSU a TD to work with in a close victory.

My early season numbers show it to be a 3 pt game for FSU, with the total around 40-45. It's so early though the numbers could be off. They've been very good this weekend so far though. I've got small wagers on those.

Also some rain down there today and with Doak being open it could be a sloppy game, the field will be very wet. Play that info as you see fit. 3-6PM there's scattered thunderstorms.

I love FSU -4 for the first half. I think they cover the game too. I'm not buying VaTech early in the season, just yet.

VT Defense backfield is too young and untested to trust them on the road. The Seminole D is also shallow in the backfield, especially linebackers. I think Taggert keeps his foot on the gas and Francois and Jackson make enough plays for both sides to get the o54.5 home.
