#46There are large groups that manipulate the coin and make money on both sides. No different than the stock market. They look for potential cover stories to manipulate past where the natural market would settle. A guy I know keeps asking me to invest like 100k in the group he works with. PASS.Comment -

#49You ever see when Bitcoin drops, everything drops? Bitcoin is one of the most weak hand markets there. Someone sneezes and the price drops. If the ETF didn't at least trigger the avalanche, what did?Comment -

#50I don't think any one event caused the trigger, these markets have very little liquidity, if you get a lot of short sellers these markets are very easy to manipulate.Comment -

#51Then what do you use to start the sell off? It's not random. They wait for an event and jump on it and start the cascade.Comment -

#52If you are holding something like Bitcoin and are currently under water then cut your losses or expect to be under water for a while.
While the market cap created a lot of buzz and they started calling it an asset class, it isn't a currency, as was mentioned.
It is, sort of, but not when you look at it from an investment sense.
You will not be able to compete with the farms in China and you can only hope to be a part of the bigger money that fuks with this market.
The real money, the big boys, the real investors that asses quality and technical aspects, and command real market moving money, are not going to be there for you guys.
Bitcoin is not a good investment, and hasn't been for a while.
If you have it cheap, it is the future, or something like it. In that respect you may have a long term hold.
But truthfully, there are far better investments out there now that will create a real return and are backed by billion dollar hedge fund market movers.
Yeah, there are big players in BTC, but it's child's play and that asset class is not getting into the club, for now.
As far as a payment processor, Bitcoin has no volume, none, and can't handle even a fraction of the hourly or minute volume of major card companies currently in the space.
BitCoin is not a player, and won't be for a long time.
Good Luck.

#53I think its market manipulation - but I don't think the SEC's decision on the ETF comes anywhere near close to explaining a near 25% sell-off in 24 hours - short sellers always look for an excuse and then they push prices down to a point where you get panic selling. ETF's are just another way to buy/trade/invest in bitcoin, they aren't anything special. You can already trade bitcoin futures at the CME.Comment -

#58My DOG named SMARTY told me tonight that BitCoin was going to 49K by year's end.
***He predicted the housing crisis when our neighbor's tree fell on his doghouse.
The night that it happened he refused to go outside. In three months the housing bubble burst.Comment -

#61Yep, this has been true for a while
I remember trying to off lod loading 6 figures around 17000 (coming down) and it was nearly impossible to get fills, in addition it affected the price a lot more than I expected. I relaized back then it was in trouble
Your point is a very valid one that is often overlooked...
I probably have more now in xrp than anything, not sure if I want it classified as a security or notComment -

#63That money holders need to come back in is not there, like I said, it has moved on to far better investment, for now.
Those chinese crypto farms should be enough to scare a holder away.
And like I said, when it comes to the payment processing space, Bitcoin doesn't even have the infrastructure to compete at even 1/10 the volume of the big guys.
A long way to go for Bitcoin.
I believe blockchain is the future and suggest those ICO's in advertising and AI realms.
But for now, money is speaking elsewhere with these cryptos as an after thought.
