Confeds need a big day today

Here we are, Day 2 of the SBR World Cup Of Poker, in the beautiful confines of the SBR Poker Room, ready to get the action started here in a bit.....

To recap yesterday, USA held true to form on DAY 1 with an impressive showing, winning 5 of the 12 tournies, and picking up two second places, as well, for a total of 12 Cup points.

USA was followed by Team World, which took down 3 tournies, with four seconds for 10 Cup points, and Canada, which similarly won 3, and posted 3 second places for a total of 9 Cup points.

Bringing up the rear of the field was Team Confeds, which posted only one win (and it took two amazing two-outter suckouts for that to even happen), and 3 second places, for a total of 5 cup points. My old team, and the defending Cup champion, has some serious work to do today to get back into contention.

C'mon sourpuss. 1) You are too big time to care if the prize is 10 points or 1000 points I thought. and 2) First place team gets $10000 in sportsbook cash or $5000 in bitcoin. Plus another 100,000+ poker points for other teams that could be turned into as much as the first prize again.

Is 10k-20k investment in prizes for a free/fun poker tourney really not enough for you to not scoff at being below you?

trny 2 update: TEAM USA's always-strong jakepeavy runs into a buzzsaw, that being team world's manny playing in pure "beast mode", making power moves left and right and hitting all the right cards....

Manny backs up yesterday's win with another today, playing pure power poker at its finest.....

The Manster bounced Canadian stalwart Beerdog by hitting the nut flush to BD's second nut flush, in a traditional, typical sbr coolerish hand, with BD taking third in a good showing.

The trny lasted just over an hour, one of the longest yet in this year's Cup play.....

The top two teams starting to create a little distance over the bottom two, confeds and canada.....

trny 3 summary: OldSchoolGambler showed the field why he's such a skilled, tough player, by dominating play and conquering the field in a swift, 40-minute trny.... 5Mike for usa was essentially card dead and shoved short stacked, only to be hit by flopped trips held by confeds' Xstream..... Xstream fell next, leaving bracerman as the only speed bump between OSG and the finish line....

Congrats to OSG for indeed goin' a bit old school and taking it down.... I feel there was far more than one "old school" bluff in his repertoire, as no one could hit that many hands.... nevertheless, extremely well done!

The win puts Team World within a point of tying USA for the lead.... Canada remains in striking distance, as well.

Team Confeds has yet to get things going, and absent a mid-afternoon to primetime run of points, they are going to have less than a BobbyWaves' chance of competing for the Cup in 2018....
