Not Chapman’s fault at all that game should have been over. He worked threw it. Bad play to first. And that line drive up the middle could have been a catch....Red Sox Astro’s going to be amazing series

Yankees were 779-2 since 2003 when leading by at least 3 runs after the 8th inning. Till tonight. Sick beat.
Guy was dripping out there! Thought I was watching a comedy movie?? Possibly Major League the movie?

162 gms x 15 yrs = 2,430 just regular season games not counting playoff games guess it could be true seems hard to believe 1/3 they were winning by 3+ going into the 8th but they are the Yankees so i guess anythings possible.

with the sdql going back as far as they go (2004) the nyy
have led in the 8th inning by >= 3 runs in the regular season 756 times and have won 753 of those..if you include playoffs add 26 more times..quite remarkable
they have won 99.6% (inc playoffs) of those even with mariano on the team for most of those years

nyy win % turns out to be no big deal as overall 99.2 % of these games are won by the team leading by >=3 after 8 innings
